A system that detects whether a user interacting with a featured activity is wearing glasses is described. The system verifies that the user is wearing the glasses and the system prompts the user and a caregiver and may blur, stop or otherwise interrupt a user experience of a featured activity, such as a video game or film, when the system determined that the user is not wearing the glasses. A glasses module may be positioned at frame of the glasses at a head of the user to detect that the user is wearing the glasses. Optical facial processing may detect a face and glasses on the face. Also disclosed is a hearing aid that may be integrated with such a system. A glasses module that aids in depth perception by reporting distance ahead, and a system that trains eye contact with another person wearing glasses are also disclosed.

Smart eyeglasses for special needs children and adults

An athletic shoe includes stabilization mechanisms designed to inhibit ankle sprains while also providing comfort for a wearer. Such mechanisms include inner and outer straps that overlie the instep of the athletic shoe and wrap around the wearer's ankle to provide ankle support and inhibit inversion of the ankle during athletic activity. The athletic shoe also includes an inner boot liner that stabilizes the wearer's foot within the athletic shoe, provides a comfortable buffer between the wearer's foot and the inner and outer straps, and wicks perspiration away from the wearer's foot during athletic activity.

A system, method and related devices for monitoring and improving the training and social eye contact and communication skills of developmentally challenged individuals such as autistic individuals with special needs in improving their interpersonal communicating and other skills. A WatchMe component of the system and method monitors and obtains qualitative and quantitative information about the eye contact habits of a subject being trained or interviewed. It provides stimuli that promotes and encourages improvements in the eye contact habits of the subject.

A system, method and related devices for monitoring and improving the training and social eye contact and communication skills of developmentally challenged individuals such as autistic individuals and other individuals with special needs in improving their interpersonal communicating and other skills. A so called, TeachMe component of the system allows the defining of a students/patients long-term behavior or academic or social goal treatment in a hierarchical relationship of skills in treatment plans. It captures behavioral event within a 'behavioral stream' and in real time stores the 'behavioral stream' in a centralized database that can be accessed anywhere and anytime using the Internet. Procedures and materials used during the treatment are identified and data is stored in a central depository and can be displayed in a therapist's handheld device. The WatchMe component of the system and method monitors and obtains qualitative and quantitative information about the eye contact habits of a subject being trained or interviewed. It provides stimuli that promotes and encourages improvements in the eye contact habits of the subject.

Sneaker

A stabilization device for an athletic shoe or sneaker having two elongate straps for wrapping around a foot within the shoe. The straps are attached to the inside sidewalls of the shoe and exit the shoe through lateral slits adjacent to the sole. Each strap then passes through a buckle, and the two straps are attached to each other with a VELCRO material. Two lateral support bumpers, integral with the shoe near the sole and which project outwardly on the lateral sidewall, provides further projection against foot injuries. The upper shoe component having a sufficiently stiff consistency to prevent acute angles that form during inversion stresses.

In some point-of-sale systems, the behavioral events occur before the transaction data is generated. The present system asynchronously records the video signals corresponding to the behavioral events and the transaction data. A surveillance system that includes a switcher, a selector and processor for generating a predetermined monitor display based on an operator's inputs. The processor determines a plurality of camera views that have a logical relationship to the view selected by the operator. The monitor displays the selected view and the related views in a format determined either by the operator or the processor. This system allows the operator to easily track a moving target. In addition, a touch screen monitor further facilitates the operator's ability to track a target.

A system for making and reviewing video recordings of transactions occurring at cashier lanes uses a television camera for developing frames of video signals of the transactions at two or more cashier lanes. A register at each lane generates digital signals representing events that occur at the lanes. A computer responsive to the digital signals generates a digital transaction signal. A VCR records the camera video signal and the computer digital transaction signal on a cassette, the digital transaction signal being recorded in a certain relation (e.g. in synchrony) with the camera video signal and in such a manner as to substantially not affect the clarity of each video frame. In a playback mode, the VCR generates a playback video frame signal, and the computer generates an overlay control signal. An overlay means responsive to various signals generates a composite video signal of an alpha-numeric display of the digital transaction information relating to the desired cashier lane overlaying the video signal, the alpha-numeric information being positioned in the composite video signal so as not to obscure that portion of the video frame that pertains to the desired cashier lane. In another aspect of the invention, a computer responds to the register signals and generates a video storage signal at the start of a subsequent transaction and a transaction summary signal. The overlay means generates a summary snapshot video frame signal comprising alpha-numeric transaction summary information overlaying the picture of the merchandise at the start of the transaction.
