A method of treatment is presented for alleviating and/or repairing damage associated with M1 macrophage-driven inflammation through administration of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HMW-HA), optionally in combination with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and/or anti-Stabilin-2 antibodies. Preferred embodiments are formulated for parenteral administration and either directly or indirectly suppress M1 macrophage activity, and/or directly indirectly promote M2 macrophage polarization.

An incubator for cell and tissue culture under controlled atmospheric conditions has a primary air flow control device that forms a primary, preferably laminar flow, air veil across an opening that allows access to the cells or tissue cultures disposed within the incubator. Preferably, most if not all of the air in the primary (laminar flow) air veil is recirculated, and a secondary air flow control device is used that forms a secondary, preferably laminar flow, air veil between the primary (laminar flow) air veil and a user of the incubator.

Compositions and methods are presented that reduce the risk for ARDS and/or need for ventilation in a patient diagnosed with a coronavirus, and particularly SARS-CoV-2 virus, a SARS virus, or a MERS virus. In preferred aspects, HMW-HA is administered to the lung before onset of ARDS and/or cytokine storm. Additionally, NAD+ may be co-administered or prophylactically administered where NADlevels are low.

Provided herein are systems for continuously measuring oxygen and carbon dioxide gas levels inside a cell culture incubator, comprising an oxygen sensor that uses LED based fluorescence technology to determine the amount of oxygen in the surrounding atmosphere, a carbon dioxide sensor that uses LED based Non-dispersive Infra-Red (NDIR) technology to determine the amount of carbon dioxide in the surrounding atmosphere, and electronics to wirelessly monitor the output from the oxygen sensor and carbon dioxide sensor. Most preferably, the system can be placed inside a cell culture incubator, and sensor readings are pre-compensated for temperature, pressure, and humidity. Also provided herein are methods of using the same.

Modular oxygen monitor

Provided herein are gas mixing systems, comprising a gas inlet for receiving two or more gases and a mixing chamber with a static mixer for mixing the gases. Preferred mixing chambers further comprise a reduced pressure compartment downstream of the static mixer that is in fluid communication with the gas inlet. A gas outlet is in fluid communication with the mixing chamber, and one or more sensors are coupled to the reduced pressure compartment and are configured to continuously sense various parameters such as barometric pressure and the percentage of oxygen in the gas mixture moving through the mixing device. Most typically, the readings of the sensor are pre-compensated for temperature, pressure, and humidity. Also provided herein are methods for using the same.

The device is especially well adapted for enabling elected samples in a single titration plate to be simultaneously subjected to different PCR programs.
