A flame detector includes a beam splitter to split mid-wave infrared radiation (MWIR) and long-wave infrared radiation (LWIR) into an MWIR component and an LWIR component. An MWIR detector detects the MWIR component and an LWIR detector detects the LWIR component. The flame detector analyzes the MWIR component to determine the presence of a flame and analyzes the LAIR component to determine whether the system is functioning properly.

Configurable fail-safe flame detector

Devices, methods, systems, and computer-readable media for a multispectral band system are described herein. One or more embodiments include a filter comprising a first designated transmittance value for a first wavelength range and a second designated transmittance value for a second wavelength range, a sensor to receive transmitted radiation from the filter, and a computing device coupled to the sensor to detect any radiation within the first and second wavelength ranges from the received transmitted radiation from the filter and wherein the detected radiation in the first wavelength indicates a particular type of radiation source and detected radiation in the second wavelength range indicates one or more other items within a field of view of the received radiation.

Multispectral band system

Utilizing a quench time to deionize an ultraviolet (UV) sensor tube are described herein. One method includes monitoring firing events within a UV sensor tube, where a particular firing event initiates arming the UV sensor tube, initiating a quench time to deionize the UV sensor tube, where the quench time includes, disarming the UV sensor tube to prevent a firing event.

Devices and methods for detecting particulate matter are described herein. One device includes a laser, a reflector, an ellipsoidal reflector, and a detector, wherein the laser is configured to emit a beam, the reflector is configured to reflect the beam toward the ellipsoidal reflector, and the ellipsoidal reflector has a first focal region located on a path of the reflected beam, and a second focal region located at a surface of the detector.

Particulate matter detector

Devices, methods, systems, and computer-readable media for a multiband detector are described herein. One or more embodiments include a multiband detector designed to detect an emission source including a broadband lens, a broadband detector, and a filter that allows electromagnetic radiation entering the system to be filtered into at least two wavelength bands before contacting the broadband detector wherein one or more wavelength bands are used to determine system functionality and wherein one or more other wavelength bands are used to identify the presence of an emission source having a characteristic particular wavelength or wavelength range.

Multispectral band sensor

A flame detector includes an infrared detector and a first window covering the infrared detector. A second window is positioned in front of the first window. The flame detector is adapted to reject light having a wavelength below approximately 2 &#x3bc;m and to reject light having a wavelength above approximately 6 &#x3bc;m, allowing detection of flame from multiple sources. In variations, the windows in combination with the infrared detector may provide the rejection or a band pass filter provides the rejection. Still further variations utilize notch filters or a band reject filter to provide notches of light to the infrared detector corresponding to the wavelength of different flame sources to be detected.

Method and device for detection of multiple flame types

The present disclosure includes sensing device embodiments. One sensing device includes a heater layer, a resistance detector layer, constructed and arranged to indicate a temperature value based upon a correlation to a detected resistance value, an electrode layer, and a sensing layer.

Sensor temperature sensing device

A dual band imager includes a lens to receive short wavelength and medium or long wavelength radiation from a scene to be imaged, a beam splitter positioned to receive the radiation from the lens, a medium or long wavelength to short wavelength image converter positioned to receive long wavelength radiation reflected via the beam splitter and to transmit the image information via short wavelength radiation, and a detector to receive the short wavelength radiation containing the image information through the beam splitter or from the scene and from the image converter.

Thermo-optical array devices and methods of processing thermo-optical array devices are disclosed. One method of processing thermo-optical array devices includes forming a (001) oriented titanium dioxide material on a bolometer material, and forming a vanadium dioxide material on the (001) oriented titanium dioxide material. One thermo-optical array device includes a bolometer material, a titanium dioxide material on the bolometer material, and a vanadium dioxide material on the titanium dioxide material, wherein the vanadium dioxide material has an optical transition temperature of less than 67 degrees Celsius.

Thermo-optical array devices and methods of processing thermo-optical array devices

A system for detecting a flame. The system may discriminate between a detected hot object and flame. The system may be a camera-like structure incorporating an infrared sensor, a lens, and an element that could filter out some of the long-wave infrared radiation. The sensor may receive radiation of a scene which forms images on the sensor. The images may be provided to a processor that incorporates one or more modules to determine whether a flame is present in the scene.

MWIR sensor for flame detection

Devices, methods, and systems relating to infrared imager devices, methods for providing infrared imagers, methods of operating infrared imagers, and infrared imager systems are disclosed. An infrared imager system includes a number of lenses, a beam splitter, an imager array, and a thermo-optical array, wherein the beam splitter directs light to the imaging array and to the thermo-optical array.

Infrared imager

A flame detector includes a medium wavelength infrared bolometer having an array of pixel elements disposed within a housing. Optics supported by the housing and disposed with respect to the bolometer direct infrared radiation from a flame to the pixel elements of the array and direct radiation from a separate background object to the pixel elements of the array. Electronics are coupled to receive signals from the bolometer and programmed to track an intensity of radiation from the background object to monitor transmission of radiation through the optics.
