A circulation unit for connecting to a lubricator suitable for housing a wireline operated tool string for collecting debris within a petroleum well. The circulation unit comprises a house with an upper lubricator connection and at least one lower internal seal member adapted to seal against an outer surface of the tool string. The circulation unit has an outlet above the seal member, the outlet being connected to a reservoir. The circulation unit has a lower lubricator connection. The house, upper lubricator connection and lower lubricator connection form a through passage for the tool string. The upper lubrication connection and lower lubrication connection are adapted for connection to a pressurized lubricator. The tool string includes a wellbore cleanout tool with filling means. The wellbore cleanout tool comprises an outlet for unloading collected debris in a lubricator assembly comprising the lubricator and the circulation unit.

Device for emptying a wireline operated wellbore debris clean out tool and a method for using the device

A dump bailer for being filled with a flowable material in a lubricator assembly and for depositing the flowable material in a wellbore, wherein the dump comprises a filling valve for filling flowable material into the dump bailer and a means for orientation of the dump bailer along a longitudinal axis. The invention also relates to a lubricator assembly configured to allow filling a flowable material into a dump bailer positioned within the lubricator assembly, wherein the lubricator assembly comprises an inlet for injection of flowable material and a guide for providing the dump bailer with a correct position and orientation. The invention further relates to a method for filling a flowable material into a dump bailer positioned within a lubricator assembly and for depositing the flowable material in a wellbore.

A method for use in controlling pressure based signal transmission within a fluid in a flowline includes transmitting a pressure based signal through a fluid within a flowline using a flow control device, recognising a condition change associated with the flowline, and then controlling the flow control device in accordance with the condition change. Another method, or an associated method for use in communication within a flowline includes determining or composing an optimised pressure based signal for detection at a remote location and then transmitting the optimised signal using a flow control device.

Apparatus for performing multiple downhole operations in a production tubing

The flow control device includes a flow path, a compensation chamber and a regulator assembly defining a first surface exposed to the flow path and an opposing second surface which is exposed to the compensation chamber. A drive arrangement is provided for moving the regulator assembly to vary the flow path. Fluid flowing through the flow path establishes a pressure which varies across the first surface of the regulator assembly. The compensation chamber is in pressure communication with a localised region of the first surface which is selected to establish a compensation chamber pressure which acts against the second surface of the regulator assembly to bias the regulator assembly in a desired direction. The first surface of the regulator assembly may define a profile configured to minimise the variation in pressure applied over the first surface by action of fluid flowing through the flow path.

Flow control device and method

An interface tool and apparatus for retrieving a tubing from a well at least partly filled with a liquid, the tubing having first and second end portions. The apparatus includes an anchor for engaging tubing; sealing module for sealing first end portion of the bore of tubing; injector for injecting a low density fluid into tubing in or at an elevation below sealing module; and sealing cable connecting to a surface of the well. This invention relates to a junk catcher () releasably connected to a retrievable bridge plug () connectable to a setting tool () for joint deployment of bridge plug () and junk catcher () in a borehole () or a tubular in the borehole (). Setting tool () extends through a fishing neck (), a catcher tube (), a flanged section (), a valve chamber (), a closable opening () and a portion of a setting sleeve () of junk catcher (). Valve chamber () comprises a valve () arranged to close closable opening () after retrieval of setting tool () from junk catcher (). The junk catcher () is connected to bridge plug () by at least one shear bolt (). Bridge plug () comprises a plug fishing neck () facing junk catcher (), and bridge plug () comprises an equalizing channel () in a mandrel (). The equalizing channel () extends from a bull nose () of bridge plug (), and where junk catcher () is provided with a closing sleeve (), closing sleeve () is connected to bridge plug () by at least one shear bolt (), and closing sleeve () seals at least one equalizing port () in mandrel () when bridge plug () is set. A method for operating bridge plug () and junk catcher () assembly is also described.

Junk catcher and a method of operation of same

This invention relates to a method and apparatus for retrieving a tubing from a well at least partly filled with a liquid. The tubing has first and second end portions. Method steps include: (a) running a retrieval apparatus using connecting means from a surface into the well, retrieval apparatus including: means for engaging tubing; means for sealing a portion of the bore of tubing; means for injecting a low density fluid into tubing, (b) connecting engagement means to a portion of tubing; (c) activating sealing means to close liquid communication in the bore of tubing between first and second end portions; (d) replacing at least a portion of a volume of liquid defined by sealing means, tubing and second end portion (B-B') of the tubing by a low density fluid introduced in volume by injection means; and (e) retrieving tubing out of the well using connecting means.

Method and an apparatus for retrieving a tubing from a well

This invention relates to an apparatus and a method for collecting debris in a wellbore. The apparatus includes a housing for receiving debris defined by an endless wall portion, first and second end portions, at least the second end portion is provided with at least one closable aperture allowing one-way flow of debris into the housing, a releasable sealing device for holding a volume of a first fluid within the housing, the volume of the first fluid having a lower pressure than ambient wellbore pressure; a retaining device for initially holding the releasable sealing device in a first portion; a releasable sealing device to move from the first position to a second position, whereby debris is entered through the closable aperture into the housing, where volume of first fluid is reduced, at least one conduit defined by an inlet and an outlet, the outlet being in the second end portion being submerged in the debris when the apparatus collects debris, the inlet in fluid communication with a pressurized second fluid contained in a chamber upon release of a valve.
