A coolant controller for a coolant circuit of an internal combustion engine has a housing and a thermostat valve arranged therein. The thermostat valve has at least one valve closing member loadable by a working element as a function of a temperature value, a temperature sensor as well as a heating element for the working element. The housing is provided with at least one plug from which connecting lines extend to the temperature sensor. A current supply for the heating element is present. The plug, the temperature sensor, the connecting lines and the current supply for the heating element are provided as a pre-manufactured assembly and this assembly is integrated into the housing.

Coolant controller and method for its manufacture

Expansion or elastic material working element, particularly for operating a thermostatic valve, having a housing and a movable working pin led out of the housing, the housing containing expansion material and a heating device with an electrical resistance element applied to a support. More particularly for increasing the response speed of such a device, according to the invention the support has a cavity and the resistance heating element is a heating conductor wound around the support.

Heatable dilation element

An improved housing for a thermostatic valve has a nonconducting cover that features a projection into the interior of the valve housing. Mounted on the projection is a thermostatic operating element, which operates to control the valve when wax inside the thermostatic operating element is heated. A pair of electrical leads, connectable to an exterior power source, are embedded within the cover, extending through the projection and connecting to a heating element within the thermostatic operating element. When electrical current is applied to the heating element through the embedded electrical leads, the wax is heated, thereby expanding, driving a work piston of the thermostatic operating element, and opening the valve.

Thermostat valve with electrically heatable operating element

A device for regulating transmission oil temperature having a heat exchanger through which the oil flows and to which coolant from an internal combustion engine can be supplied through at least one valve controlled by a thermostatic operating element immersed in the oil, the device includes a flow control body attached to a heat exchanger in a flange-like manner, the flow control body containing an oil channel connected to an oil outlet of the heat exchanger into which a housing enclosing the thermostatic operating element projects for the detection of and response to the temperature of the oil exiting the heat exchanger, the thermostatic operating element having a work piston connected to an extension member which is connected to the at least one valve in the flow control body, the valve disposed between at least one coolant inlet and a coolant opening to the heat exchanger.

Device for regulating the temperature of oil

An electric connection for an element arranged in a liquid-carrying component and from which at least one electric line leads to an outside contact of a plug housing which is contained in a frame of the component is provided. The plug housing of a connector plug is held in the frame using a bow-shaped spring. A bow-shaped spring is laterally fitted from an exterior side onto the frame. The frame is provided with recesses into which legs of the bow-shaped spring project and, in each case, reach over one stop respectively of the plug housing.

Electric connection for a component arranged in a liquid-carrying housing

A thermostatic valve having a working element that has a housing and an extendable working piston with a valve disk. A valve seat and a closing spring which loads the valve disk in the direction of the valve seat are provided. A holder constructed as a sheet metal preform stationarily holds the housing of the working element, the holder having a flange. A connection sleeve and a housing part are provided, the flange being clampable between the connection sleeve and the housing part. The holder and the connection sleeve are connected with one another as a transportable constructional unit, the connection sleeve having an interior with at least one abutment for the closing spring. The connection between the holder and the connection sleeve is dimensioned such that the connection has a holding force which exceeds a prestressing force of the closing spring.

Thermostatic valve

A thermostatic valve device for a coolant circulating system of an internal-combustion engine having a thermostatic working element which has a housing containing an expansion material and a working piston which is movable out of the housing in a moving-out direction. A valve disk and a valve seat forms a valve. The valve disk is connected to the housing. A restoring spring is coupled to the housing. An abutment supports the working piston such that, when the working piston moves out, the housing moves against the action of the restoring spring to lift the valve disk off the valve seat. The abutment is a thrust bearing. An idle path is between the abutment and the working piston. The idle path is bridged by a first part of the moving-out movement. A bypass connection bypasses the valve. A closing member is mounted on the working piston and closes and opens the bypass connection. The bypass connection and the closing member form a pilot valve which opens during the moving-out of the working piston for bridging the idle path. A closing spring is coupled to the closing member and loads the closing member against the moving-out direction of the working piston.

Thermostatic valve device having a pilot valve

A thermostatic valve arrangement for a coolant control of an internal-combustion engine, having a thermostatic working element which is assigned to the coolant flow and the working piston of which is supported on an abutment which can be adjusted by an adjusting member. The adjusting member is arranged outside the coolant flow and is held in a receiving device which is constructed in one piece with a valve housing and is constructed of a plastic material. The adjusting member is detachably held by holding elements in the receiving device. Between the adjusting member and the working piston, transmitting devices are arranged which transmit the pressure forces and which form a sealing device sealing off the valve housing in the direction of the receiving device.
