A method for detecting and conveying an alarm signal, when an absorbent article is unfastened or, completely removed from the body of the wearer. The method is intended to be used in parallel with a method for detecting wetness in the absorbent article and further relates to an integrated detection-and-alarm method for detecting unfastening and/or wetness in an absorbent article. A system for detecting and conveying an alarm signal when an absorbent article is unfastened or removed from the body of the wearer and/or when the article is wet. The system includes (a) and absorbent article having at least one absorbent layer, the object to be displaced, such as a fastening system, one or more sensoring devices, one or more transmitting devices, and (b) a remote receiver. Furthermore, the system relates to the use of the system in the care of children and adults suffering from incontinence and/or psychological illnesses.

An insert for use together with an absorbent article such as a diaper, an incontinence product, a sanitary towel, a panty liner or the like. The insert is substantially non-urine-absorbing and comprises a support sheet () which has a first surface () and a second surface (), the first surface () being treated with a skincare agent (), and the second surface () being substantially impermeable to the skincare agent. The insert further includes at least one spacing and liquid-receiving sheet () placed against the second surface () of the support sheet (). The spacing and liquid-receiving sheet facilitates the intake of liquid through the topsheet when the insert is in use.

Method for detection of unfastening or removal of absorbent article from the body

An absorbent article comprises an absorbent body, a liquid-permeable covering layer arranged over a first surface on the absorbent body, and a liquid-permeable liquid-transfer layer arranged between the absorbent body and the liquid-permeable covering layer. The liquid-permeable covering layer comprises a nonwoven material with a pore volume distribution curve with a maximum at a pore radius greater than or equal to 50 &#x3bc;m and with a wetting angle of at least 120&#xb0;. The liquid-transfer layer comprises a fibrous layer with a pore volume distribution curve with a maximum at a pore radius of from 105 to 325 &#x3bc;m.

Absorbent article with improved surface material

An insert for use together with an absorbent article such as a nappy, an incontinence product, a sanitary towel, a panty liner or the like. The insert has an first side, a second side and an essentially non-urine-absorbing spacer element adapted to keep a portion of the absorbent article at a distance from the skin of a wearer during use. The insert also includes an essentially non-urine-absorbing liquid-permeable retaining layer located against the spacer element, the retaining layer being capable of retaining feces.

A fibrous structure testable in a series of run-off tests, wherein each run-off test includes exposing the fibrous structure to a volume of a test solution and the fibrous structure initially is hydrophobic and has been treated to be hydrophilic, wherein the fibrous structure exhibits a run-off level that is less than 5 percent by weight throughout a series of run-off tests, and wherein the series starts with a first run-off test and ends with a fifth run-off test.
