A metallic effect pigment with an additive, the additive being applied on at least a portion of the metallic effect pigment. The additive comprises, as structural units, at least one carboxylic acid having at least 4 carbon atoms and also at least one polyglycol ether. The carboxylic acid and the polyglycol ether are bonded covalently to one another. The disclosure is also directed to a method for producing these metallic effect pigments, and to the use thereof, as well as to a printing ink comprising the pigments.

The invention relates to a composite formulation comprising a specific mediator additive component (A) of relatively high molecular weight, a filler component (B) and a binder component (C). The composite formulation can be cured to a composite which is especially suitable for the production of moldings.

The invention relates to a method for producing particulate composite materials. According to the method, solid inorganic or organic particle agglomerates or particle aggregates that are provided in a dry state, particularly in powder form, are first reduced in size in the gas phase or in a gaseous carrier medium in the presence of organic matrix particles by applying energy. The obtained comminuted particles are dispersed into the organic matrix particles, especially embedded thereinto and/or attached thereto. The composite materials produced in said manner can be used in many different ways and are suitable in particular for use in a large variety of plastic materials, coating materials, paints, and lacquers, especially coating powders, to modify properties during use in the corresponding products and similar.

The invention relates to polyesters which contain carboxy groups and which are used as dispersing agents for pigment concentrates for the colouring of thermoplastics, and to a process for their preparation. The invention further relates to the use of the polyesters as dispersing agents, and also to masterbatches which comprise pigments, thermoplastics and the polyesters.

The invention relates to an unsaturated polyester resin mixture which can be cured by applying external pressure and which encompasses at least the following components: a) an unsaturated polyester resin whose weight-average molar mass is from 500 to 5000 g/mol; b) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer; c) a shrinkage-reducing component; d) an inert filler; and e) a reinforcing fibre; and f) from 0.01 to 1% by weight of a block copolymer, based on the total weight of the unsaturated polyester resin mixture comprising reinforcing fibre, where the block copolymer encompasses at least one A block and encompasses at least one B block, where the A block contains at least one amine-containing, ethylenically unsaturated monomer; and the B block contains at least one alkyl- and/or phenyl-containing, ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and is free from amine-containing, ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The present invention further relates to a process for preparation of the polyester resin mixtures and to the use of the block copolymers f) in unsaturated polyester resin mixtures.

The present invention relates to processing aids for the processing of synthetic polymer compositions based on carboxylic esters, where the processing aids include, partial esters which contain at least 18 carbon atoms, have a number-average molecular weight of from 300 to 10,000, and can be prepared by the reaction of saturated or unsaturated aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic polycarboxylic acids or anhydrides of these with saturated or unsaturated aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic monoepoxides and/or monoalcohols optionally containing ether groups, where at least 10% and not more than 90% of the carboxyl groups of the polycarboxylic acids have been reacted and the polycarboxylic acids and anhydrides of these contain from 8 to 100 carbon atoms. The invention further relates to the use of these processing aids in synthetic polymer compositions, and also to synthetic polymer compositions, which comprise these processing aids.
