A method for producing metal-based thin foils is provided, which includes the steps of extruding a metal through an extruder to form a preliminary foil, cooling the preliminary foil in a coolant bath, and rolling the preliminary foil in a rolling system containing at least two rollers to form a metal-based thin foil.

Production of metal-based thin foils

A separator for a lithium secondary cell is provided. The separator has a separator substrate, selected from porous separators for liquid-electrolyte cells and solid-electrolyte separators having lithium ion conductivity, and has a layer of glassy carbon (GC), which is applied at least on one side of the separator substrate. A lithium secondary cell is also provided, which contains a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a separator placed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode. The glassy carbon layer of the separator faces the negative electrode.

A sintered electrode having a sintered composite material is provided. The composite material contains (A) active-material particles, (B) solid-state electrolyte particles from an inorganic lithium ion conductor, (C) a particulate conductivity additive from an electrically conductive material and (D) a fibrous material, with weight proportions N(A) to N(D) of components (A) to (D) in the composite material satisfy the following: N (A)&#x3e;N (B)&#x3e;N (C), N (D). A solid-state lithium-ion battery containing such sintered electrode is also provided.

Fiber-reinforced sintered electrode

A lithium-sulfur battery which includes an electrolyte containing lithium-ions, an anode and a cathode containing sulfur. The lithium-sulfur battery also contains a surface layer which is arranged between the anode and the cathode. The lithium-sulfur battery further includes areas on the cathode side which contain polysulfides. The surface layer of the lithium-sulfur battery contains at least one graphene layer which is permeable to lithium ions and impermeable to polysulfides.
