Navigation systems and associated methods for providing navigation services are provided. Information associated with a desired route for a vehicle, such as a route between a current location and a desired destination, may be determined. Additionally, contextual information associated with the vehicle may be identified. Based upon the desired route and the contextual information, a direction may be generated for presentation to one or more users, and the generated direction may be output for presentation.

Software gaming applications may be written to accept an input from one or more standard controllers such a joystick with input buttons. However, multiple wearable sensors or hand held MID devices may enhance the gaming experience. These sensors may include devices such as accelerometers to detect movement of the extremity they are attached to and wirelessly communicate this information to a receiver. Embodiments are directed to using sensor fusion to combine sensor data from multiple wireless input devices, such as wearable sensors and MID devices together to form one logical input stream that is presented to an application and which the application sees are a standard controller.

Speech recognition systems and/or techniques are provided in which grammar elements and/or speech inputs are targeted to selected functions. One or more input capture devices facilitate the collection of user input associated with a vehicle, and a vehicle function may be selected based upon received user input. A subset of available grammar elements that are associated with audible commands for the selected function may then be identified and utilized to evaluate received audio input. In this regard, speech recognition may be targeted to the selected function.

Various embodiments described herein provide systems, methods, and software to automatically reorder search results presented to users based on information specific to the user or the computing environment of the user. Some embodiments include a data store holding user or environment specific data that is used to identify search results that are more likely to be relevant to the user. These and other embodiments are described in greater detail herein.

In some embodiments a controller is adapted to receive textual representation of content experienced by a user, to receive information about an interaction by the user with the content, and to determine a user model in response to the textual representation and the interaction. Methods and apparatus are disclosed for media access control (MAC) layer processing to support social networking and advertisements over the MAC layer of a local personal area network (PAN). An application interface permits a service category corresponding to the application to be selected, and further permits service announcements corresponding to the application to be advertised. Generator logic may generate the service announcements to be advertised. The MAC layer processor inserts the service announcements into beacons in the local MAC layer of the local PAN and also receives advertisements from other devices over the MAC layer of the local PAN. Monitor logic can monitor the MAC layer of the local PAN for advertisements corresponding to the selected service category. The monitor logic is also operatively coupled with the application interface for displaying advertised services corresponding to the selected service category.
