The invention relates to pearlescent pigments comprising a largely transparent platelet-shaped synthetic substrate having a density &#x3c1;and at least one optically active coating having a density &#x3c1;, the substrate having an average size dfrom a range from 2.0 &#x3bc;m to 8.0 &#x3bc;m and an average height hfrom a range from 40 nm to 110 nm and the total lead content of the pearlescent pigments is &#x2264;10 ppm. The invention further relates to a method for producing the pearlescent pigments, and also to the use thereof.

Pearlescent pigments on the basis of fine and thin synthetic substrates

The present invention relates to a nail varnish including at least one effect pigment and at least one micronized wax, and to a process for producing it. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of at least one micronized wax in a nail varnish and to an article provided with the nail varnish. Moreover, the invention relates to a mixture of at least one pigment and at least one micronized wax.

Nail varnish with a velvety feel

A printing ink, preferably ink-jet ink, containing pearlescent pigments and at least one of at least one solvent, at least one radiation-curable component and at least one binder, wherein the pearlescent pigments comprise a substantially transparent platelet-shaped substrate having a density &#x3c1;and at least one optically active coating having a density &#x3c1;, and the pearlescent pigments have a dvalue for a cumulative frequency distribution of a volume-averaged size distribution function with a range from 3.5 to 15 &#x3bc;m. The invention further relates to a process for producing the printing ink.
