An improved wet or dry wipe dispenser for one hand use and minimal user dexterity. The dispenser is made up of a carry-handle (), handle cap (), lid () and bucket (). The handle cap () forms a light contact seal to the lid () and retains moisture, but vents excess pressure of volatile liquids. The lid () forms a liquid tight seal to bucket (). The lid () is removable allowing replacement of wipe media. An integrated carry-handle () and handle cap () allows easy portability. The bucket () has a liquid level and media window () for viewing indication of measurement of wet wipe liquids and for viewing remaining wipe media ().

A selective call receiver such as a pager (44) sorts and stores received messages (24-32) by categories and, optionally, by sub-categories as well. The category of a received message is determined by comparing a received message to identifying data (106) stored in the pager (44). Both the identifying data (106) and the categories can by changed by the user. When the category of a received message has been determined, a user alert is generated, the alert being indicative of the category of the message.

A method and apparatus select a receive frequency of a receiver (400) in a system having coverage areas divided into zones. A primary scan list is stored in the receiver (400) and contains coverage area identification parameters. The parameters can include a coverage area identifier and a zone identifier, and at least one corresponding frequency identifier. A frequency identifier is chosen (604) from the top of the list and the receiver (400) is tuned to the receive frequency identified thereby. Baud rate detection is performed (608) and, in response to finding a predetermined baud rate, a received coverage area identifier and/or a received zone identifier is decoded (612). If the received identifier matches a corresponding parameter stored in the receiver, the receiver (400) is locked (904) to a signal on the receive frequency.

A selective call system provides dynamic group calling by transmitting a paging message (FIG. 10) to each data communication receiver in a defined group. The paging message comprises a group call address (1040) and frame (1050) and phase (1060) information identifying when the group message will be transmitted. The group call message is then transmitted (326, 328) in the assigned frame and phase. When the paging messages comprising the group call address are received (1904) by the data communication receivers, the group call address is decoded and temporarily stored (1910) as an address of the receiver. Within the identified frame and phase, address correlation with the group call address is attempted (1918, 1926) and the group call message, when found (1920), is received and decoded (1922) as a paging message. After reception of the group call message, the group call address and associated stored information is erased (1924).

Method and apparatus for dynamic group calling in a selective call system

A messaging system capable of transmitting messages to receivers which roam between coverage areas. In one configuration, a coverage area (100) is divided into a plurality of zones (110). A single simulcast system identification (SSID) number is assigned which consists of a local identification number which identifies the coverage area (100), a zone identifier which identifies a zone (110) within the coverage area, traffic splitting flags and a frequency. For larger roaming areas, a network (200) is defined as consisting of a plurality of service areas (210) and is identified by network roaming identification information (NRI). NRI information and/or SSID information is stored in a receiver according to desired coverage and like information is transmitted in the corresponding zone or service area.

Network roaming information (NRI), which comprises identifies a network (200) and a service area (210) within the network (200), a receiver address, is transmitted in a network (200) during a predetermined number of time slots of a signal, whereby the signal is transmitted in consecutive cycles, each cycle comprising a plurality of consecutive time slots. The placement of the NRI in the transmitted signal is made to be predicted by a receiver so that the receiver can compute an expected time slot location of a NRI to be compared with a stored NRI. The placement of the NRI is made according to an algebraic relationship between moduloN of the transmission frequency of the signal, moduloN of the order of the cycle, and moduloN of a portion of the NRI, wherein N is an integer.
