An impact resistant wound cell comprises a first electrode plate with a first surface and a second surface. The first surface comprises a first active material area and a first current collector area, the second surface comprises a second active material area and a second current collector area. The first current collector area is located on an inner side of an outermost circle of the wound cell. In the first electrode plate, the second current collector area and the first current collector area are adjacent to and opposite to each other, the first current collector area and the second current collector area are bonded together by a first bonding member. The present disclosure further provides a battery using the wound cell.

Wound cell and battery using the same

An electrochemical device includes a cathode current collector, a first cathode active material layer, a second cathode active material layer and an insulating layer. The first cathode active material layer covers a first portion of a first surface of the cathode current collector, and the insulating layer covers a second portion of the first surface of the cathode current collector that is different from the first portion. A first distance exists between the insulating layer and the first cathode active material layer in a longitudinal direction of the cathode current collector. By providing a gap between the active material layer in a two-layer structure and the insulating layer in the cathode, thereby ensuring the mechanical safety performance of the electrochemical device.

Cathode, electrochemical device and electronic device comprising same

The present application relates to a cathode, an electrochemical device and an electronic device including the same. The cathode includes: a cathode current collector, a first cathode active material layer, a second cathode active material layer and an insulating layer; where the first cathode active material layer covers a first portion of a first surface of the cathode current collector, and the insulating layer covers a second portion of the first surface of the cathode current collector that is different from the first portion, where a first distance exists between the insulating layer and the first cathode active material layer in a longitudinal direction of the cathode current collector. By providing a gap between the active material layer in a two-layer structure and the insulating layer in the cathode, the potential problem of the overlapping of the active material layer in a two-layer structure and the insulating layer on the cathode is alleviated, thereby ensuring that the electrochemical device cannot catch fire and lead to failure in the event of being punctured, and further ensuring the mechanical safety performance of the electrochemical device.

The embodiments of present application provides an electrode assembly and a battery comprising a first current collector including a first end portion, a first bending segment, a first starting segment therebetween; a second current collector including a second end portion, a second bending segment, a second starting segment therebetween; the first and second bending segments are regions where the first and second current collectors are bent for the first time respectively, and a first and second electrode tabs are respectively arranged on the first and second starting segments, a distance between the first electrode tab and the first end portion is smaller than a distance between the first electrode tab and the first bending segment, a distance between the second electrode tab and the second end portion is greater than a distance between the second electrode tab and the second bending segment.
