Aspects are provided which allow a UE to trigger initiation of an SR procedure in response to a decrease in an amount of received data or uplink grants following a measurement gap. The UE receives data from a first base station. The UE performs a measurement of a downlink signal from a second base station based on a measurement configuration. The UE transmits a scheduling request in response to a decrease in at least one of an amount of received downlink data or a number of received grants to transmit uplink data after the measurement is performed. As a result, inefficient data stalls caused by erroneous DRX determinations by a base station may be avoided.

Measurement gap and scheduling

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for managing scheduling requests (SRs) in a user equipment (UE) that supports a split data radio bearer (DRB). In some aspects, the UE may trigger a first SR for a first communication link and a second SR for a second communication link in response to determining that a first amount of data in the UE data buffer is greater than a first threshold. The UE may transmit the first SR to a first base station (BS) via the first communication link. Prior to transmission of the second SR, the UE may determine whether a second amount of data in the UE data buffer is less than a second threshold. The UE may cancel the second SR in response to the second amount of data in the UE data buffer being less than the second threshold.

Scheduling request (SR) management for split data radio bearer (DRB) in a wireless wide area network (WWAN)

The apparatus of wireless communication may include a transmitter connected to a receiver through a split carrier including a first carrier and a second carrier, and the transmitter may be configured to schedule transmission data at PDCP level by splitting the transmission data to first packets and second packets based on a relative scheduling delay between the first carrier and the second carrier, and scheduling the first packets and the second packets on different links based on a scheduling proportion, and transmit the first packets via the first carrier and the second packets via the second carrier. The transmitter may sequentially transmit the transmission data starting at an offset as the second packets to a second RLC level associated with the second carrier, wherein the offset is determined based on the relative scheduling delay.

Methods and apparatus for split PDCP scheduling

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a first wireless connection with a first wireless device, and a second wireless connection with the first wireless device or a second wireless device, where the first wireless connection and the second wireless connection operate in a dual connectivity mode. The UE may identify first and second energy efficiency metrics associated with the first and second wireless connections, respectively. The UE may identify one or more parameters associated with a transmit power of communications at the UE, and may compare the first energy efficiency metric and the second energy efficiency metric. The UE may then allocate a first power resource to the first wireless connection, a second power resource to the second wireless connection, or both, based on the comparison, the one or more parameters, or a combination thereof.

Techniques for transmit power allocation in dual connectivity

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for using a message to update a user equipment (UE) radio capability. For example a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) may include generating a tracking area update (TAU) message with an indication of a UE radio capability update, transmitting the TAU message, and detaching and reattaching the UE from a network if a UE capability inquiry is not received from the network or a capability mismatch between the UE and the network is detected.
