A method for adjusting a human machine interface (HMI) element location in a commercial vehicle display includes displaying, on an electronic display of a commercial vehicle, images from a camera secured to the commercial vehicle that depict a trailer of the commercial vehicle and its surrounding environment; determining a reference location of a reference point of the trailer in the images; superimposing an HMI element in the images on the electronic display at an HMI location determined relative to the reference location; and detecting that the reference location has changed in the images, and adjusting the HMI location in response thereto. A camera monitoring system (CMS) for a vehicle and a method for a camera mirror system are also disclosed.

A method for a camera monitor system (CMS) includes displaying image feeds from a plurality of CMS cameras on a plurality of CMS displays. The image feeds depict an environment surrounding a commercial vehicle. The method also includes receiving a touchscreen command for a particular one of the CMS displays on a touchscreen interface and adjusting a zoom level of the image feed on the particular one of the CMS displays based on the touchscreen command. A camera monitor system (CMS) is also disclosed.

A camera arm for a camera monitor system (CMS) includes a base that is configured to be secured to a vehicle, and the base includes a wiper. A pivoting arm is mounted on the base at a joint. An actuator is configured to articulate the pivoting arm relative to the base with the joint. A camera assembly is provided in the pivoting arm and configured to face rearward with the base secured to the vehicle. Articulation of the joint is configured to move the pivoting arm between a deployed position and a stowed position, and the articulation of the joint moves the camera assembly across the wiper in a sliding direction as the pivoting arm moves between the deployed and stowed positions.
