A method of Enhanced Oil Recovery from oil zones in a subterranean geological formation, and from oil zones. The method including: a first injecting step of injecting a first composition including COinto the subterranean geological formation for a period of time; a second injecting step of injecting a second composition including COand a hydrocarbon into the subterranean geological formation for a period of time, wherein the first composition and the second composition are different; and extracting oil from the subterranean geological formation.

The present invention relates to a method of storing COin a geological formation, said method comprising (i) injecting a first composition comprising COinto said formation; and (ii) injecting a second composition comprising COand at least one COsoluble polymer into said formation, wherein steps (i) and (ii) are performed separately and in any order and wherein said first and second compositions are different.

A method and arrangement are proposed for introducing a COcomposition into a subterranean geological formation for storage of COtherein. The COcomposition is initially injected into the formation using a first set of injection parameters at which the COcomposition is a supercritical fluid having first viscosity and density values. The injection parameters are then modified such that the COcomposition is injected into the formation using at least one second set of injection parameters at which the COcomposition is a supercritical fluid having second viscosity and density values that are different from said first viscosity and density values, wherein said injection parameters include the injection temperature, injection pressure and hydrocarbon content of the COcomposition.

Methods for storing carbon dioxide compositions in subterranean geological formations

A method of introducing a COcomposition into an aquifer for storage of COtherein, said method comprising injecting COin a supercritical state into said aquifer at one or multiple first vertical positions; and withdrawing brine solution from said aquifer at one or multiple second vertical positions; wherein any one of said first vertical positions is distinct from any one of said second vertical positions is disclosed. An arrangement for introducing a COcomposition into an aquifer is also disclosed.
