An apparatus such as a fluid mixer, suitable for use with a respirator, including a venturi nozzle for flow of a pressure-controlled fluid; an ambient fluid aperture in fluid communication with the venturi nozzle; a fluid port; a pressure force multiplier in fluid communication with the fluid port; and a valve moveable relative to the venturi nozzle between a start flow position and a stop flow position; where the pressure force multiplier is configured such that fluid forced into the fluid port actuates the valve relative to the venturi nozzle; and where the pressure force multiplier is configured such that fluid withdrawn from the fluid port actuates the valve relative to the venturi nozzle, further comprising an active filter that comprises an energy harvesting system and at least one filter medium, wherein the energy harvesting system generates electricity to induce a static charge in the at least one filter medium.

A method and apparatus for separating gaseous emission pollutants from a scrubber by using a narrow band of UV light energy emitted from an LED light source. The method includes sweeping the evolved gas away from the flow of liquid containing the pollutant using a non-reactive gas. The pollutant can be CO, NO, SO, or other pollutants. The method can operate on multiple pollutants the gas stream, using different banks of LEDs, specifically tuned for a certain pollutant.

Presented is a method for Batch or continuous production of nitrogen trifluoride (NF) using direct fluorination of organic solution of trimethylsilylamines at low temperatures. Fluorine gas reacts with a solution of tris(trimethylsilyl)amine or bis(trimethylsilyl)amine in a suitable reactor to produce NFin a continuous flow process. The crude product can be purified by a channeling the crude process flow through a scrubber to remove reactive byproducts and by cryogenic trapping of other non reactive byproducts in the process flow. Temperatures in the reaction and storage vessels are maintained to control the reaction products based on thermodynamics of the process and products. NFis liquefiable at &#x2212;126 degree Centigrade, and may be collected and used in other processes. The method also produce NFas a continuous gas flow process where fluorine is channeled to contact micro droplet suspensions of bis(trimethylsilyl)amines in sulfur hexafluoride.
