A system for cooling a load coupling coupled to a gas turbine and disposed within an exhaust housing is provided. The system includes a shroud configured to be mounted about the load coupling, the shroud defining an inlet passage between the shroud and the load coupling and an outlet passage between the exhaust housing and the shroud. The system also includes a set of blades configured to couple to the load coupling. The set of blades are angled to draw air into the inlet passage as the set of blades rotate with the load coupling.

Turbine load coupling cooling system

One or more cooling systems for ventilating a turbine and rotary shaft of a gas turbine system is provided. The gas turbine system includes a gas turbine engine and a turbine exhaust collector in separate enclosures. A first cooling system includes an educator that sucks exhaust gas through a diffuser and directs it out of the turbine exhaust collector enclosure based on suction pressure created from the high velocity of exhaust gas. A second cooling system include struts that enable the exhaust gas to flow from the diffusers to a ventilation flow stack. A third cooling system includes exhaust gas sucked from an opening to a top duct based on suction pressure created from the rotation of the rotary shaft disposed about a coupling. A guideway associated with the third cooling system also directs the exhaust gas to flow to the top duct.

System for cooling turbine shaft coupling

A box-shaped air intake silencer with vertical baffles for a gas turbine system. The box-shaped silencer has a silencer housing having opposing ends with a first end closed and a second end opened to permit passage of air. Opposing sidewalls extend between the first end and the second end with each of the sidewalls operative to receive a perpendicular flow of intake air. A silencer having vertically, spaced baffles are disposed within the housing. A first end of the baffles face the first end of the housing and a second end of the baffles faces the second end of the housing. Each of the baffles extend horizontally between the first end and the second end of the housing. The baffles receive the perpendicular flow of intake air proximate the first end of the housing and direct the intake air towards the second end of the housing for passage therethrough.

Box-shaped air intake silencer with vertical baffles for gas turbine system

Control of low pressure recoup air in a gas turbine engine disposed in a gas turbine enclosure with low pressure recoup air piping coupled to a gas turbine combustion exhaust and gas turbine engine enclosure is disclosed. A first valve of the piping controls a flow of the recoup air to the gas turbine combustion exhaust. A second valve of the piping diverts the recoup air to the enclosure for eventual flow to the air intake. A controller controls the flow of the recoup air from the piping to the exhaust and/or the enclosure as a function of ambient and air intake temperature measurements, and a predetermined temperature requirement having an ambient temperature constraint and an air intake temperature differential constraint.

System and method for controlling low pressure recoup air in gas turbine engine

One or more cooling systems for ventilating a turbine and rotary shaft of a gas turbine system is provided. The gas turbine system includes a gas turbine engine and a turbine exhaust collector in separate enclosures. A first cooling system includes an educator that sucks exhaust gas through a diffuser and directs it out of the turbine exhaust collector enclosure based on suction pressure created from the high velocity of exhaust gas. These cooling systems are designed to increase the efficiency of ventilating the turbine and rotary shaft, prevent misalignments of the rotary shaft, which may result in thermal stresses, and allow the use of the gas turbine systems in higher ambient temperature environments.

A turbine ventilation system includes a controller that is coupled to an actuator that is coupled to a vane that is disposed across an intake port between a gas turbine enclosure and the turbine ventilation system. The controller can cause the actuator to change a position of the vane to alter an air flow from the turbine ventilation system into the gas turbine enclosure based upon feedback from one or more sensors disposed within the gas turbine enclosure.

A gas turbine system includes a plenum that includes an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is configured to receive a flow of oxidant and the outlet is configured to direct the flow of oxidant in a downstream direction. Additionally, a support system is coupled to the plenum and to a cone. The support system enables the cone to move along the support system from a first position to a second position. The cone includes an upstream end and the upstream end is removably coupled to the outlet of the plenum in the first position. When the cone is in the first position, the cone is configured to direct the flow of oxidant in the downstream direction to a gas turbine engine. The upstream end is disposed upstream of the outlet and is decoupled from the outlet when the cone is in the second position.

A gas turbine exhaust diffuser is configured to be at least partially disposed within an exhaust collector. The diffuser also includes an inner wall configured to extend to a back wall of the exhaust collector, an outer wall circumferentially disposed about the inner wall along a portion of the collector, and an inlet between the upstream end of the inner and outer walls. The inlet is configured to receive an exhaust flow from a gas turbine engine. An outlet for the exhaust is located between the inner wall and a downstream end of the outer wall. The outer wall is asymmetrically shaped so that an opening between the outlet and the back wall of the exhaust collector is larger on a first lateral side of the diffuser adjacent an exhaust exit of the collector than an opposite lateral side of the diffuser.

A system includes a modularized air inlet system. The modularized air inlet system includes an air filter house section configured to receive air via an air inlet. The modularized air inlet system also includes a transition/silencer section configured to direct the air from the modularized air inlet system, via an air outlet, into an air inlet plenum coupled to a gas turbine engine enclosure. The modularized air inlet system is configured to couple directly to the air inlet plenum and the gas turbine enclosure without an expansion joint disposed between the modularized air inlet system and the air inlet plenum.

The present application provides a radial diffuser exhaust system for use with a gas turbine engine. The radial diffuser exhaust system may include a radial diffuser positioned within an asymmetric exhaust collector. The asymmetric exhaust collector may include a closed end chamber and an exhaust end chamber. The closed end chamber may have a first size, the exhaust end chamber may have a second size, and the first size may be smaller than the second size.

A system includes an inlet pipe configured to convey a fluid and a buffer volume configured to buffer the fluid. The buffer volume includes a smallest diameter tube having a smallest diameter, a first inlet end, and a first outlet end. The first inlet end is configured to receive the fluid from the inlet pipe. The buffer volume also includes an intermediate tube surrounding the smallest diameter tube having a first capped end and a second outlet end. The first capped end is positioned next to the outlet end of the smallest diameter tube. The buffer volume also includes a largest diameter tube surrounding the intermediate tube second capped end and a third outlet end. The second capped end is positioned next to the second outlet end of the intermediate tube. The system also includes an outlet pipe configured to convey the fluid from the buffer volume.

A system includes a bleed system configured to direct a bleed flow from a high pressure region to a low pressure region. The bleed system includes a valve configured to control the bleed flow through the bleed system and a staged bleed conduit configured to incrementally depressurize the bleed flow. The staged bleed conduit includes an inlet coupled to the valve, a first stage configured to depressurize the bleed flow that is coupled to the inlet, a second stage configured to depressurize the bleed flow that is coupled to the first stage, and an outlet coupled to the second stage. The outlet is configured to direct the bleed flow to the low pressure region. The inlet, the first stage, the second stage, and the outlet are disposed along parallel axes.

System and method for expanding a compressor bleed flow

A system includes a gas turbine enclosure. The system also includes a gas turbine engine disposed in the gas turbine enclosure, wherein the gas turbine engine is configured to output an exhaust flow. The system further includes an exhaust driven eductor configured to draw an air flow through and out of the gas turbine engine enclosure using the exhaust flow. The system yet further includes an exhaust stack coupled to the gas turbine enclosure, wherein the exhaust stack is configured to output a mixed flow of the exhaust flow and the air flow. The system still further includes a diffuser plate disposed within the exhaust stack, wherein the diffuser plate is configured to provide a homogenous flow distribution for the mixed flow downstream of the diffuser plate.

System for managing exhaust flow for a gas turbine

Systems are provided that may be used to diffuse and deflect the flows of gas into a plurality of gas flows. A gas flow, for example, exhaust gas, may be diffused, that is, spread out by the diffuser. A flow deflector may be coupled to the diffuser so that the gas flow may result in a plurality of gas flows. By diffusing and allowing a plurality of gas flows, improved gas flows may be achieved.
