Injection molded article comprising at least 60 wt.-% of a heterophasic propylene copolymer, said polymer comprises a matrix being a polypropylene, said polypropylene comprises at least three polypropylene fractions, the three polypropylene fractions differ from each other by the melt flow rate and at least one of the three polypropylene fractions has a melt flow rate in the range of 1.0 to 20.0 g/10 min, and an elastomeric propylene copolymer dispersed in said matrix, wherein said heterophasic propylene copolymer has a melt flow rate of equal or more than 20.0 g/10 min and the amorphous phase of the xylene cold soluble fraction of the heterophasic propylene copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity of equal or higher than 2.0 dl/g.

Scratch resistance polypropylene at high flow

Process for the production of polypropylene random copolymers containing 2.5 to 5.0 wt % of ethylene as comonomer and having an MFRin accordance with ISO 1 133 (230&#xb0; C., 2.16 kg load) of &#x2267;25 g/10 min to 100 g/10 min and a hexane-solubles content, determined according to FDA CFR 21 &#xa7;177.1520 below 5 wt %, said process comprising the step of polymerizing propylene and ethylene in the presence of a catalyst system comprising (i) a Ziegler-Natta procatalyst which contains a trans-esterification product of a lower alcohol and a phthalic ester as internal donor and (ii) an organometallic cocatalyst and (iii) an external donor represented by formula (I) or (II) Si(OCHCH)(NRR) (I) or Si(OCH)(CH(cyclohexyl) (II) wherein Rand Rcan be the same or different and represent a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, the polypropylene random copolymers with a low level of odor and taste themselves and their use for injection molding applications, preferably for thin-wall packaging for food packaging in non-cooking applications and for medical packaging.

Process for the production of propylene random copolymers for injection moulding applications

A high density polyethylene moulding composition having a multimodal molecular weight distribution, having a density according to ISO 1183 at 23&#xb0; C. in the range of 945 to 965 kg/mand an MFRaccording to ISO 1133 in the range of 0.05 to 25 g/10 min, said polyethylene moulding composition comprising at least three ethylene polymer fractions having distinct molecular weights: A) 15 to 50 wt % of a low molecular weight ethylene homopolymer fraction with a weight average molecular weight Mw in the range of 15 to 40 kg/mol; B) 15 to 50 wt % of a medium molecular weight ethylene homopolymer fraction with a weight average molecular weight Mw in the range of 70 to 180 kg/mol; and C) 15 to 50 wt % of a high molecular weight ethyleve copolymer fraction with a weight average molecular weight Mw in the range of 200 to 400 kg/mol; and wherein the composition has: a tensile modulus according to ISO 527-2: 1993 measured on compression moulded samples of at least 800 MPa; a Charpy impact strength CIS (23&#xb0; C.) according to ISO 179:2000 measured on V- notched samples produced by compression moulding of at least 30 kJ/m; and an environmental stress crack resistance ESCR measured as FNCT full notch creep test according to ISO/DIS 16770.3 at 50&#xb0; C. and 6 MPa of at least 20 h.
