Systems and methods described herein provide a network-based solution to efficiently transition private network subscribers from a macro network to a private network. A network device in the macro network stores a neighbor list identifying a private network that has overlapping coverage with a cell for the macro network. The network device detects that a user equipment (UE) device connected to the network device has a subscription to the private network and, in response to the detecting, sends, a release message to the UE device. The release message includes a redirection to the private network.

A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a dynamic C-DRX provisioning service is provided. The service may disable or enable discontinuous reception on a per end device application or network slice basis. The service may invoke an end device capability procedure to modify a discontinuous reception configuration of a network. The service may store information that correlates an application or network slice to a discontinuous reception setting.

Method and system for dynamic connected mode discontinuous reception

A network device, of a fifth generation (5G) radio access network, may establish a connection or a session with a user equipment connected to a Wi-Fi network. A system described herein may maintain information associating one or more tokens to one or more network slices associated with a network. The system may receive a request, from an application executing at a User Equipment ('UE'), for communication session information, where the request includes a particular token. The system may identify a particular network slice associated with the particular token based on the information associating the one or more tokens to the one or more network slices. The system may receive communication session information, associated with the particular network slice, from the network, and may provide the communication session information to the application. The application may use the communication session information to communicate with the network via the particular network slice. The application may use such communication session information without providing an application identifier to the network.

Systems and methods for application-anonymous slice selection in a wireless network

Systems and methods described herein use group segmentation of applications (referred to herein as 'slicing classes'), based on common service requirements, to allow carriers to assign UE traffic to network slices. A UE stores slicing class definitions for use with UE Route Selection Policies (URSP). Each of the slicing class definitions include network quality of service (QoS) characteristics that are applicable to network traffic for multiple software applications. The UE maps the software applications to corresponding slicing class identifiers associated with the slicing class definitions. The UE also stores URSP rules for associating a slicing class identifier with a network slice identifier. A UE operating system sends, to a modem, one of the slicing class identifiers for an application that is requesting attachment to a wireless network. The modem sends a registration request with a selected network slice identifier based on the received slicing class identifier and the URSP rules.

Systems and methods of application mapping for network slicing using group segmentation

Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts a parameter barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

Method and system for supporting voice calls in 5G new radio environments

In some implementations, a first network device may receive an authorization request associated with a user device connecting to a network associated with first network device. The first network device may redirect the authorization request toward a second network device associated with a second service provider. The first network device may determine, based on a response to the authorization request, that the user device is subscribed to a service provided by the second service provider and that the user device is not authorized to connect to the network. The first network device may provide a temporary service to the user device to enable the user device to connect to the network for a limited period based on the user device being subscribed to the service provided by the second service provider and the user device not being authorized to connect to the network.

A user equipment (UE) device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a first reconfiguration message from a wireless station of a radio access network to attempt to place the UE device into a first power saving state. The UE device may be further configured to execute the instructions to determine that a battery level is below a first predetermined threshold; transmit, to the wireless station, a second power savings request when it is determined that the battery level is below the predetermined threshold, to place the UE device into a second power saving state; receive a second reconfiguration message from the wireless station based on the second power savings request; and execute adjustments in the second reconfiguration message to place the UE device into the second power saving state.

Systems and methods described herein improve a customer experience for non-standalone cellular networks by displaying a secondary cell group (SCG) network icon after data activity ends while a user device likely remains in SCG coverage. When connected to the SCG, the user device detects inactivity on the connection and initiates a first timer, based on the detecting, while continuing to present an SCG-related icon. If the first timer expires while the user device is in an idle state, the user device initiates a second timer, while continuing to present the SCG-related icon. If the user device detects an active connection before expiration of the second timer, the user device initiates a third timer while continuing to present the SCG-related icon. If the user device fails to detect a connection to the SCG before expiration of the third timer, a master cell group (MCG)-related icon is displayed.

System and method for indicating coverage types for user devices in dual connectivity wireless networks

In some implementations, a network device may monitor a communication session associated with a user equipment and a network. The network device may determine a service-level identifier associated with a subscription of the user equipment, wherein the subscription is for a particular level of service that is to be provided by the network to the user equipment. The network device may determine that a performance metric associated with the communication session satisfies a performance threshold associated with the particular level of service. The network device may provide the service-level identifier to the user equipment based on the performance metric satisfying the performance threshold, wherein the service-level identifier enables an indication that the user equipment is receiving the particular level of service to be displayed by the user equipment.

Systems and methods for obtaining and indicating subscription information for a wireless communication service

A user equipment (UE) may establish a wireless connection with a WiFi network, and may perform a measurement associated with a fifth generation (5G) ultra-wideband radio access network. The UE may determine whether the measurement satisfies a signal strength threshold, and may selectively perform a first action or a second action based on whether the measurement satisfies the signal strength threshold. The first action may include providing an indication of an availability of the 5G ultra-wideband radio access network, for display, when the measurement satisfies the signal strength threshold. The second action may include maintaining the wireless connection when the measurement fails to satisfy the signal strength threshold.

Systems and methods for prioritizing user equipment access to fifth generation (5G) ultra-wideband networks and wireless networks

Embodiments described herein provide for a network-assisted determination by one or more User Equipment ('UEs') to connect to a licensed network (e.g., a Fifth Generation ('5G') radio access network (&#x201c;RAN&#x201d;)) in situations where both the licensed network and one or more unlicensed networks (e.g., one or more WiFi networks) are in range of the UE. Such connection to a licensed network (e.g., in lieu of an unlicensed network) may provide for better performance and/or access to resources not otherwise accessible via an unlicensed network.

Systems and methods for network-assisted radio access network selection for a user equipment

A system described herein may provide a technique for applying an authorized set of traffic parameters, such as network slicing parameters, Quality of Service ('QoS') parameters, etc. to traffic associated with a particular application, without exposing an identifier of the traffic to one or more network devices of a network that handles the traffic. An authentication system of some embodiments may generate a tokenized version of the application. A User Equipment ('UE') may extract a token from the tokenized application and identify a set of traffic parameters based on then token. The UE may apply the traffic parameters to outbound traffic associated with the application, and the network may determine whether such traffic parameters are authorized for a destination associated with the traffic based on an authorization of the destination for the particular traffic parameters.
