A heat exchanger includes a first fluid carrying conduit extending along a first conduit axis and configured to convey a first fluid at a first temperature, and a second fluid carrying conduit extending along a second conduit axis and configured to convey a second fluid at a cooler, second temperature. The heat exchanger also includes at least one fin having a first opening for coupling to the first fluid carrying conduit and a second opening for coupling to the second fluid carrying conduit. The at least one fin extends along a fin axis that subtends an acute angle or obtuse angle with at least one of the first conduit axis or the second conduit axis.

A radiator joint is provided that include a first component, a second component and a weld seam, that together define a bird beak joint. The first component has generally circular cross-sectional profile. At an end of the first body there is a bird beak cut section that forms a first mating surface. The second component can function as a manifold. It has a generally rectangular cross sectional profile and an aperture. The aperture extends along at least two sides of the second component. The weld seam is disposed at the first mating surface and couples the first component to the second component. A fluidic seal is thereby formed between the hollow interior and the exterior while defining a fluid flow path through the first and second components.

A filter system and method include a filter configured to receive a first fluid mixture via an inlet. The first fluid mixture includes a first fluid and debris. The filter is shaped to separate a portion of the debris from the first fluid. A fluid control device is fluidly coupled with the filter. The fluid control device receives the first fluid from the filter and changes a characteristics of the first fluid. A conduit is fluidly coupled with the filter and a second fluid source. The conduit receives the debris from the filter and a second fluid from the second fluid source. The conduit combines the debris with the second fluid to form a second fluid mixture within the conduit. The conduit is shaped to control one or more of a pressure or a velocity within the conduit to direct the second fluid mixture through the conduit toward an outlet.

A thermal management system includes a plurality of thermal management assemblies. Each of the thermal management assemblies has a monolithic foil structure having a body with an external surface and a differently shaped and opposing internal surface. The external surface forms an outer profile and the internal surface forming an internal conduit with the outer profile and the internal conduit having different shapes. The monolithic foil structure is configured to physically isolate a first fluid flowing along the external surface from a second fluid flowing in the internal conduit. The body is configured to transfer thermal energy between the first fluid flowing along the external surface and the second fluid flowing in the internal conduit.

Thermal management system and method

Various systems are provided for a seal chamber of a centrifugal pump. In one example, a seal chamber housing for a centrifugal pump includes a central cavity internal to the seal chamber housing, the central cavity having a greater diameter at a first end of the seal chamber housing and a smaller diameter at a second end of the seal chamber housing, and at least one flushing passage at the second end of the seal chamber housing. The at least one flushing passage is configured to directly fluidically couple the central cavity to an exterior of the seal chamber housing. In this way, increased cooling and debris removal may be provided to a seal positioned within the seal chamber housing.

Systems for a pump seal chamber

A thermal management system includes a shaft extending along an axis and configured to rotate in at least one of two different directions about the axis, and a brake system operably coupled with the shaft. The brake system controls a speed of rotation of the shaft in the at least one of the different directions. A first fan structure is operably coupled with the shaft and disposed on a first side of the brake system, and a second fan structure is operably coupled with the shaft and disposed on a second side of the brake structure. One of the first or second fan structures is configured to direct fluid toward the brake system and the other of the first or second fan structures is configured to direct at least some of the fluid away from the brake system to control a temperature of the brake system.

A thermal management system and method includes a body having an inlet and an outlet configured to direct a first fluid into and out of the body. The body incudes a channel that is fluidly separate from the inlet and the outlet. A second fluid is directed through the channel. A conduit assembly is fluidly coupled with the inlet and the outlet. The conduit assembly includes plural fluidly separate conduits. Each of the plural conduits extend between a corresponding first end and a corresponding second end along a corresponding tortuous path. The plural conduits are intertwined with each other between the first ends and the second ends. The plural conduits are positioned such that the second fluid flowing through the channel passes over the plural conduits and exchanges thermal energy with the first fluid that moves within each of the plural conduits.

Systems and methods for engine coalescer exhaust extraction are provided. In one embodiment, a system comprises an engine including a crankcase fluidly coupled to a coalescer, a muffler adapted to receive combustion exhaust gases from the engine, and a coalescer exhaust passage fluidly coupling the coalescer to the muffler. The coalescer exhaust passage includes an inlet arranged upstream of the muffler adapted to flow a motive fluid to the coalescer exhaust passage to increase a flow speed of coalescer exhaust through the coalescer exhaust passage.

Systems and methods for engine coalescer exhaust extraction

Various systems and methods are provided for exhaust gas recirculation. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system includes an EGR passage coupling an engine exhaust system to an engine intake system, an EGR cooler positioned in the EGR passage, a recirculation passage coupling an outlet of the EGR cooler to an inlet of the EGR cooler, an EGR cooler recirculation valve positioned in the recirculation passage and controllable to change a flow of exhaust gas though the recirculation passage, and a controller configured to adjust a position of the EGR cooler recirculation valve based on a temperature at the inlet of the EGR cooler.
