A method for reinforcing an aggregate pier. The method includes inserting a conical-head pipe into the aggregate pier, injecting grout into the aggregate pier by injecting the grout into the inner chamber of the hollow rod, driving the conical-head pipe into a soil under the aggregate pier by driving a secondary pipe into the aggregate pier and pushing the conical-head pipe toward the soil under the aggregate pier by utilizing the secondary pipe, filling the secondary pipe with grout, and inserting a reinforcement bar into the secondary pipe and the hollow rod. This method reinforces an aggregate pier against excess tensional and compressional loads of a concrete foundation.

Aggregate piers reinforcement against axial loads

A method for lifting and repairing a foundation is disclosed. The method includes digging a well in at least one lateral surface of the foundation, installing a shear plate to the at least one lateral surface of the foundation inside the opening of the well, further digging the well to a maximum depth of 6 m, compacting a bottom surface of the well at the maximum depth of 6 m, forming a layer of gravel, compacting the layer of the gravel, placing a double column inside the well, pouring a plurality of gravel particles into the well, forming a cemented gravel layer by injecting cement slurry into the well to fill empty spaces among the plurality of gravel particles, installing a tensile system on top of the double column, forming at least a vacant space between the foundation and ground by lifting the foundation from the ground using the tensile system, and fixing the foundation by injecting cement slurry into the vacant space.

Lifting and repairing foundations

A mandrel for forming a cavity at a target location. The mandrel includes a base part positioned at a top end of the mandrel, a first middle part, a second middle part, a third middle part, a first plurality of diamond-shaped crushing blades, a second plurality of diamond-shaped crushing blades, and a bore head positioned at a bottom end of the mandrel. The first plurality of diamond-shaped crushing blades are attached around the first middle part and the second middle part. The second plurality of diamond-shaped crushing blades are attached around the third middle part and the bore head.

The multi-function retaining structure includes a first I-beam, a second I-beam, a third I-beam, a first inclined stiffener plate, and a second inclined stiffener plate. The method includes positioning the multi-function retaining structure above the target location, driving the multi-function retaining structure into the target location by pushing the bottom edge of the third web into the target location, softening soils in the target location by jetting water to the soils utilizing a first water jet tube and a second water jet tube, extracting the first water jet tube and the second water jet tube from the rectangular chamber, and draining water from the rectangular chamber by utilizing a water drainage pump and through a drainage tube.

Multi-function retaining structure and implementation method thereof

A barbed micropile for soil reinforcement at a target location and a method for soil reinforcement at a target location. The barbed micropile includes a conical-head pipe which comprises a hollow rod, a conical head, and a first plurality of T-shaped elements mounted around an outer surface of the hollow rod. The method may include generating a cavity at the target location, filling the cavity with grout, generating a well at the target location by inserting a barbed micropile into the ground at the target location, filling a space between the barbed micropile and the well's wall with grout, and filling an inner chamber of the hollow rod.

Barbed micropiles for soil reinforcement

The present invention discloses a system and method for constructing retaining wall structure and well point in granular soils under groundwater level. The system is configured to drain the excavated zone and stabilizes the soil slope wall especially in urban lands with granular soils and high groundwater level during construction process. The system is configured to enable installation of vertical beams and polyethylene grooved drainage pipes wrapped by geotextile for drainage in the boundaries of the desired land by using a hammering casing pipe system. The hammering casing pipe system comprises a casing to receive the vertical beam and the drainage pipe, a mandrel for inserting the casing to the target location without removal of soil in the casing, a hammer element for hammering the mandrel into the target location, and a steel shaft or an impact transmission shaft configured to transfer impact from the hammer element to the mandrel.

Systems and methods for constructing retaining wall structure and well point in granular soils under groundwater level

The present invention discloses a system and method for forming a compacted aggregate pier at a target location. The system comprises a mandrel, which is a composition of a casing pipe and an inner steel shaft with close ended cone and convenient entry and exit of the inner shaft. The system further comprises a casing is equipped with water jet system, a rammer of mandrel attached to hydraulic hammer and an inner mandrel with a casing pipe having two valves with open and close capability. Using this system, the matrix soil radial density and the bearing capacity and the modulus of the reaction of the composite soil are increased and soil settlement decreases. This system also increases the density of loose soils or soils with dense sandy intermediate layers especially in shores and rivers in submerged conditions. Also, the loose granular soil is retrofitted against liquefaction.

Systems and methods for making compacted aggregate piers in a soil matrix

A method and a mandrel for forming a cavity at a target location. The mandrel may include a main drilling shaft, a plurality of T-shaped elements, a hollow-cylindrical-shaped element, and a plurality of parallelepiped-shaped stiffener plates. The main drilling shaft may include a hammer insertion part positioned at a first end of the main drilling shaft, a bore head positioned at a second end of the main drilling shaft, and a medium part positioned between the hammer insertion part and the bore head. The plurality of T-shaped elements may be mounted adjacently around the medium part in a way such that forming a closed octagonal from a top-view of the mandrel. A first size of a first cross-section at a first location from a top-view of the plurality of T-shaped elements around the medium part may be larger than a second size of a second cross-section at a second location from the top-view.

Mandrel and a method for soil compaction

Disclosed is a comprehensive excavation process performed on an excavation site. The process includes installing wellpoints for lowering the groundwater level within the excavation site and stabilizing the boundary soil walls of the excavation site by an improved soil nailing method. The improved soil nailing method employs casing pipes that are part of the wellpoint system as reinforcing elements for the stabilization of the soil walls.

Comprehensive excavation process

An aggregate pier compacting system for forming a compacted aggregate pier (AP) at a target location includes a mandrel, a tamper device, and a finishing tamper device. The mandrel includes a casing for housing a drilling shaft (DS). An external vibratory hammer (EVH) repeatedly impacts a hammer element (HE) extending from the DS. The DS transfers the impact to a bore head to form a cavity at the target location. The DS is removed and the casing is filled with aggregate. The tamper device includes a compacting shaft. The EVH impacts a second HE extending from the compacting shaft and transfers the impact to a compaction head to form the compacted AP. The finishing tamper device includes a shaft. The EVH impacts a third HE extending from the shaft and transfers the impact to a finishing head compacting a top layer of the AP to form a finished AP.

Mandrel for forming an aggregate pier, and aggregate pier compacting system and method

A method for building a drainage well in a loose granular soil is disclosed. The method includes inserting a liner tube into a loose soil using an inserting device. The liner tube includes a housing and an internal shaft placed inside the housing and coupled to inside the housing via a locking mechanism. Subsequent to insertion into the soil, the internal shaft is unlocked from the housing and removed therefrom. Thereafter, a grooved pipe is inserted inside the housing using the inserting device. Subsequent to the grooved pipe insertion into the housing, the housing is removed from the loose granular soil using a mechanical excavator and a space between the loose granular soil and the grooved pipe is filled with a filling material.
