Methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations comprising determining a plurality of metrics of data trafficked through a session border controller (SBC), the SBC in communication with an endpoint device and positioned along a data transmission connection between a network and a IP multi-media subsystem (IMS); detecting a packet loss performance metric of the data; in response to detecting the packet loss, determining that a retransmission of the SBC is degraded; in response to determining that the retransmission of the SBC is degraded, determining that an endpoint network response time (NRT) is degraded; in response to determining that the endpoint NRT is degraded, determining that an endpoint signaling response time (ART) is degraded; and in response to determining that the endpoint ART is degraded, identifying the endpoint device as a root cause of the packet loss performance metric of the data.

Root cause analysis for unified communications performance issues

Methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations comprising determining a plurality of metrics of data trafficked through a session border controller (SBC), the SBC in communication with an endpoint device and positioned along a data transmission connection between a network and a IP multi-media subsystem (IMS); detecting a jitter performance metric of the data; in response to detecting the jitter, determining that an endpoint network response time (NRT) is degraded; in response to determining that the endpoint NRT is degraded, determining that an endpoint signaling response time (ART) is degraded; and in response to determining that the endpoint ART is degraded, identifying the endpoint device as a root cause of the jitter performance metric of the data.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for improving the connectivity and response speed throughout a network. In one aspect, a method includes receiving network traffic data from an aggregation point on a network, the network traffic data having been sent to or received from one of a plurality of end-point devices on the network, calculating performance metrics for each of the end-point devices based the received network traffic data, for each of the end-point devices, comparing the performance metrics to respective threshold values to determine performance issues for the network, wherein the threshold values are determined based on historical network data, correlating the determined performance issues for the network to an aspect of the end-point devices, and implementing an action to correct the determined performance issues for the network based on the aspect of the at least one end-point devices.

Identifying network issues using an agentless probe and end-point network locations

A layout is generated of an end-to-end IT service. The layout identifies components of the end-to-end IT service and includes a physical layout and a logical layout. The layout is divided into smaller blocks. Each smaller block represents a function or a set of functions. Interactions for aggregation points between two or more blocks are identified. Using probes placed at aggregation points in the end-to-end IT service, performance of each interaction is measured at each aggregation point. Placement of the probes is optimized based on the interactions. Output is provided that includes information indicating measured performance of the interactions, including prioritized information for measured performance of anomalies.
