Provided herein is a method and apparatus for transmit parameter indication in support of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) sensing. The disclosure provides an apparatus, comprising: a Radio Frequency (RF) interface; and processor circuitry coupled with the RF interface, wherein the processor circuitry is to: decode an Information Element (IE) received from a WLAN device via the RF interface, wherein the IE is to indicate a transmit parameter for a transmission of a Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) of the WLAN device; and perform WLAN sensing on the WLAN device based on the IE. Other embodiments may also be disclosed and claimed.

Method and apparatus for transmit parameter indication in support of WLAN sensing

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to peer-to-peer (P2P) Wi-Fi sensing. A device may generate a request to perform P2P Wi-Fi sensing operations with a second non-AP STA; send the request to an AP to which the non-AP STA is associated; identify a response received from the AP, the response indicating that the non-AP STA is a sensing receiver for the P2P Wi-Fi sensing operations; identify a trigger frame received from the AP, the trigger frame associated with the P2P Wi-Fi sensing operations; identify a sensing physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) received from the second non-AP STA, the sensing PPDU associated with the P2P Wi-Fi sensing operations and including an indication that the second non-AP STA sent the sensing PPDU; and determine channel state information based on the sensing PPDU, the channel state information indicative of motion of people or objects.

Mechanisms to enable peer-to-peer (P2P) sensing

Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for report identification and power control for multi-device wireless sensing in a wireless network are disclosed. An apparatus of an access point (AP) is disclosed, where the apparatus comprises processing circuitry configured to encode for transmission to a station (STA) a frame comprising a configuration hold subfield, the hold subfield indicating whether the STA should maintain a transmit configuration unchanged during uplink (UL) sensing. The processing circuitry further configured to encode for transmission a trigger frame (TF) for sensing, the TF for sensing including an identification of the STA, an indication of a resource unit (RU) for the STA to use to transmit an uplink (UL) sensing packet, and TF type subfield, the a TF type subfield indicating the TF for sensing.

Trigger-based WLAN sensing with multiple sensing responders

Simultaneous dual band operation (2.4 and 5 GHz) is common in APs on the market today, and tri-band devices are expected in the market soon. Link aggregation can also be applicable to multiple air interfaces in the same band (for instance 2 independent IEEE 802.1 lac/ax air interfaces at 5 GHz on 2 different 80 MHz channels). One exemplary aspect provides technology that enables significantly higher throughput and/or higher reliability for two stations (STAs) or a STA and the access point (AP) when the devices support simultaneous multi-band operation.

To address technical problems facing wireless communication cost and latency, a heterogeneous roadside infrastructure can be used to improve the ability for a vehicle to communicate with a data source. To address technical problems facing interruption of vehicle services due to an abrupt loss of connection, a quality of service system provides the ability to determine and share quality of service information, such as location-based information, maps, interference data, and other quality of service information. To address technical problems facing high volume data upload and download between autonomous vehicles and cloud-based data services, optical wireless communication (OWC) provides increased data throughput and reduced complexity, and may be beneficial for short-range high-mobility wireless communications.

Systems and methods for autonomous vehicle communication

A wireless communication device for communicating across a wireless communication channel includes a memory storing instructions and one or more processors coupled to the memory to execute the instructions stored in the memory. The instructions are configured to determine a plurality of channel estimation measurements corresponding to a plurality of PPDUs received from an additional wireless communication device; determine a plurality of position measurements using information about the transmission of the plurality of PPDUs, wherein the position measurement is a position of the additional wireless communication device relative to the wireless communication device; select a subset of the plurality of channel estimation measurements based on the plurality of position measurements; and determine a change in a state of the wireless communication channel based on the selected subset of the plurality of channel estimation measurements.

Position information aided Wi-Fi sensing

An access point (AP) configured for wireless local area network (WLAN) sensing is configured to encode a trigger frame (TF) for transmission. The trigger frame allocates resource units (RUs) for receiving high-efficiency (HE) trigger-based (TB) physical-layer protocol data units (PPDUs) (HE TB PPDUs) from a plurality of client devices (non-AP STAs). The trigger frame may solicit each of the client devices to transmit an HE TB PPDU in accordance with an UL OFDMA technique or an UL MU-MIMO technique. The AP may decode the HE TB PPDUs received from the client devices and may estimate channel state information (CSI) for a radio link associated with each of the client devices based on an HE-LTF of an associated one of the HE-TB PPDUs received from one of the client devices. In accordance with these embodiments, the AP may process changes in the CSI of the radio links over time for a WLAN sensing application.

For example, a Next Generation Vehicular (NGV) wireless communication station (STA) may be configured to generate an NGV Physical Layer (PHY) Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) including an NGV preamble, the NGV preamble comprising a non High-Throughput (non-HT) Short Training Field (L-STF), a non-HT Long Training Field (L-LTF) after the L-STF, a non-HT Signal (L-SIG) field after the L-LTF, a Repeated L-SIG (RL-SIG) field after the L-SIG field, and an NGV Signal (NGV-SIG) field after the RL-SIG field, the NGV-SIG field including a version field configured to identify a version of the NGV PPDU; and to transmit the NGV PPDU over an NGV channel in an NGV wireless communication frequency band; and a memory to store information processed by the processor.

The WLAN sensing protocol comprises a discovery phase, a negotiation phase, a measurement phase, and a reporting phase. To perform the WLAN sensing protocol, the wireless communication device is configured to operate as either a sensing initiator or a sensing responder, and to operate as a sensing transmitter and/or a sensing receiver. Some 60 GHz embodiments relate to WLAN sensing in a PBSS or IBSS with DMG STAs.

WLAN sensing frame exchange protocol

A communication device for multi-radio access technology (RAT) communications includes one or more processors and a plurality of transceivers. Each transceiver is configured to operate in at least one RAT of a plurality of RATs. The processors are configured to establish connection with a second communication device using a first transceiver of the plurality of transceivers and a first RAT of the plurality of RATs. A first data stream associated with a communication link connected to the second communication device and a third communication device is receive via a convergence function at the second communication device. The communication link uses a second RAT of the plurality of RATs. A code sequence is applied to a second data stream to generate an encoded second data stream, which is transmitted to the third communication device via a second communication link established based on information received via the first data stream.

A method and apparatus for communications in internet-of-things devices are provided. An exemplary apparatus includes an IoT server device. The IoT server device includes a communications device and a resource name map including a full identifier string and a short identifier string. Embodiments of a Next Generation Vehicle-to-Everything (NGV) station (STA) and method of communication are generally described herein. The NGV STA may encode a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) for transmission in a dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) frequency band allocated for vehicular communication by NGV STAs and legacy STAs. In some cases, the NGV STA may encode the PPDU in accordance with an NGV enhanced physical (PHY) layer protocol, and includes usage of a mid-amble, space-time block coding (STBC), or low-density parity check (LDPC) coding.
