A method for performing a drilling operation of a well in a subterranean formation is disclosed. The method includes obtaining drilling data records each including a revolutions per minute (RPM) value, a weight on bit parameter (WOB) value, and a rate of penetration (ROP) value, analyzing, using a computer processor, the drilling data records to generate a maximum point including a maximum ROP value that is based on a predetermined percentile of an ROP distribution of the drilling data records, generating, using the computer processor and based on the maximum point and a current point, a recommendation point including a recommended RPM value and a recommended WOB value, where the current point includes a current RPM value, a current WOB value, and a current ROP value of the drilling operation, and presenting, to a user, the recommendation point to facilitate the drilling operation.

Rate of penetration (ROP) optimization advisory system

A method may include obtaining drilling surface parameter data regarding one or more drilling parameters during a drilling operation for a wellbore. The method may further include obtaining geological data regarding one or more formations within a subsurface of the wellbore. The method may further include obtaining vibration data regarding various drilling operations for various wellbores. The method may further include determining a predicted vibration value of a bottomhole assembly in the drilling operation using a machine-learning model, the drilling surface parameter data, the geological data, the vibration data, and a rate of penetration (ROP) value regarding the bottomhole assembly. The method may further include determining an adjusted ROP value regarding the bottomhole assembly using the predicted vibration value and the ROP value. The method may further include transmitting a command to update the drilling operation based on the adjusted ROP value.

Method and system for managing drilling parameters based on downhole vibrations and artificial intelligence

Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations including: receiving a real-time density log comprising bulk density readings of a subterranean formation, where a well is being drilled in the subterranean formation; aggregating density readings over a first threshold distance from a current drilling depth in the subterranean formation; calculating a minimum formation density and a maximum formation density in the aggregated density readings; calculating a difference between the maximum formation density and the minimum formation density; in response to determining that the difference is greater than a field threshold, determining whether a previous kick alert occurred at least a second threshold distance from the current drilling depth; and in response to determining that the previous kick alert occurred at least the second threshold distance from the current drilling depth, detecting a kick in the well.
