A system including a solar heat collector and a heat receiving structure has a supply conduit extending through an airspace within the solar heat collector, to the heat receiving structure, and into the heat receiving structure. A temperature sensor within the airspace of the solar heat collector measures a temperature within the airspace of the solar heat collector and turns an air pump on to move air through the supply conduit it this temperature is too high. This air may be exhausted through a bypass valve instead of being pumped into the heat receiving structure. The heat receiving structure may include a pool with water heated by bubbles of hot air from the supply conduit.

A hybrid solar heat collector within a translucent dome structure includes a tubular frame, forming a first fluid path, and a transverse hose winding in a spiral inside and outside alternating legs of the frame to form a second fluid path. The first fluid path is connected to a reservoir in which a heater that is turned on to heat a fluid in the first fluid path when its temperature falls below a threshold. The reservoir is located within the dome structure and is configured to readily heat the space within the dome structure, so that the freezing of fluids within the heat collector is prevented. The translucent dome structure is provided with a layer having an opacity that is increased in response to an increase in temperature above a different threshold level, so that the boiling of fluids within the heat collector is prevented.

Hybrid solar heating system

A solar heat collecting dome includes a frame having an odd number of frame elements extending upward and inward from a floor structure to a disk at the top of the dome. A dome shaped helical structure including two flexible tubes is woven to extend along and around the frame elements, with the dome shaped helical structure extending across alternating inner and outer sides of the frame elements, and with adjacent portions of the dome shaped helical structure extending across alternating inner and outer sides of each frame element. At an outer end of the dome shaped helical structure, the two tubes form an inlet and an outlet. At the inner end, the two tubes are joined. The frame may also include a fluid path, with the fluid moving in opposite directions in each of the frame elements.

An isolation apparatus reduces vibrations and destructive twisting forces otherwise transmitted between an automotive vehicle body and roof. A striker isolator and a roof pivot isolator are provided. Furthermore, a hinge isolator is provided between a pair of foldable roof sections. These isolators are ideally suited for use in combination with convertible roofs.

Apparatus for achieving automotive vehicle roof isolation

A sunroof noise attenuation system employs a sunroof assembly having an actuator driven pane movable in response to a sensor signal. In another aspect of the present invention, a pair of vibration sensors are mounted to the sunroof tub. In a further aspect of the present invention, an electronic control unit is electrically connected between a sensor and the actuator. In still another aspect of the present invention, a speed sensor is employed. A method of operating the sunroof assembly is also described.

Sunroof assembly noise attenuation system

A vehicle body comprises a pair of opposite side panels and one or more rear panels, all of which are cut from flat sheet material so that the peripheral edges of all the panels are defined by straight lines. The side panels have upper and lower portions connected by straight bend lines. A floor panel extending between the side panels and additional panels along the inside of each side panel cooperate to form three triangularly shaped hollow beams extending lengthwise of the body.
