A method of forming a wind turbine foundation includes providing an anchor cage in an excavation pit, the anchor cage including an upper flange, a lower flange, and a plurality of anchor bolts extending therebetween. A first cementitious material is directed into the excavation pit so that the anchor cage becomes at least partially embedded in the material, which is allowed to cure to form a rigid body. A connecting element is selectively engaged with the upper flange and an actuating element is positioned in operative relation with the connecting element, the connecting and actuating elements positioned in non-contact relation with the anchor bolts. The actuating element is actuated relative to the connecting element to raise the upper flange from the rigid body into a leveled position. A second cementitious material is directed into a space beneath the raised upper flange and is allowed to cure to form a support layer.

There is presented a tower element, such as a tower element for a tower for a wind turbine generator, said tower element comprising a hollow, tubular element, a flange on an inside surface of the hollow, tubular shell, a unit comprising a platform and a fixation element, such as a plurality of fixation elements, attached to the platform, wherein the unit is arranged with respect to the flange, so that the flange prevents movement of the platform in both directions along an axis being parallel with an axis of the tubular element, and movement of the platform is allowed in at least one direction along an axis being orthogonal to the axis of the tubular element. A new method for installing one or more electric cables () in a wind turbine tower section () is provided. The method comprises providing the wind turbine tower section () in a substantially horizontal orientation and installing a zip line () inside the wind turbine tower section (), between a first end () and a second end () of the wind turbine tower section (). The method further comprises coupling a second end of the electric cables () to the zip line () at a location near the first end of the wind turbine tower section (), drawing the second end of the electric cables () through the wind turbine tower section () along the zip line (), decoupling the second end of the electric cables () from the zip line (), and removing the zip line () from the wind turbine tower section (). The method further comprises anchoring a first end of the electric cables () to the wind turbine tower section (), at a location adjacent the first end of the wind turbine tower section (), and anchoring the second end of the electric cables () to the wind turbine tower section (), at a location adjacent the second end of the wind turbine tower section ().

An oscillation damper may comprise a suspension having a suspension length. The oscillation damper may comprise a pendulum which may be suspended by the suspension and may have a pendulum mass. The pendulum may comprise a fixed part which may have a side face. The pendulum may comprise a slideable part for collision with a movement limiter. The slideable part may be a substantial portion of the pendulum mass. The slideable part may comprise one or more stacked plates which may be positioned on the fixed part, and the one or more plates may extend beyond the side face. The oscillation damper may comprise a movement limiter. The movement limiter may face the pendulum.

The invention relates to an access panel configured for fixing to a service aperture in a wind turbine tower wall; wherein the access panel comprises a main panel and an adjacent sub-panel; the sub-panel comprising a bearing surface at an edge thereof; the main panel comprising a reference surface at an edge thereof; the main panel and the sub-panel being abuttable along a common seam; the seam comprising a said sub-panel bearing surface abutting a main panel reference surface; the main panel being dimensioned to close a main region of a tower wall aperture whereas the sub-panel is dimensioned to close a first sub-region of the aperture. The invention includes a method according to which the sub-panel is placed into a tower wall aperture and adjusted to bring its bearing surface into a predetermined position. Thereafter, a main panel is placed in the aperture with its reference surface in abutment with the bearing surface, thereby quickly and easily and reliably locating the main panel for securely fixing in the tower aperture.

Wind turbine access panel and method for securing same

A wind turbine tower access panel is disclosed and is removably fixable at a service aperture in a tower wall to thereby close the aperture. The access panel is generally planar and extends radially about an axis normal thereto. Additionally, the access panel includes a set of two or more fixing elements configured to securely fix the access panel in place at the aperture. Each fixing element includes an axial clamp, the clamp including an anchor fixed to the access panel, a clamping force adjuster and a clamp head having a clamping surface. The clamp head includes a relatively deformable resilient material which deforms under an applied clamping load of the clamp thereby applying a clamping force to the tower wall.

Access panel for a wind turbine tower and method for securing same

The present invention provides a foundation for a wind turbine. To reduce set-up time and to allow complete alignment of the platform which carries the base flange of the tower construction, the invention provides a foundation with a cage structure having an upper stress distribution flange connected by a plurality of tensioned anchor bolts to a lower flange. The flanges are separated by a number of distance elements whereby the shape of the cage structure becomes fixed by the combination between tensioned bolts and distance elements. Since the cage structure has a fixed shape, the upper stress distribution flange can be aligned before the cage structure is embedded in concrete, and it becomes unnecessary to wait for the concrete to harden.

A method of mounting elements in a wind turbine tower, whereby the elements are partly or completely attached to the wind turbine tower by means of magnetic attraction forces. Wind turbine suspension units may be attached to the wind turbine tower, preferably completely or partly to the inner wall by means of magnetic attraction forces, which present structure-weakening attachments to the tower or part of the tower.

The invention provides a method of laying a foundation of a tower construction which comprises a base flange. The method comprises the steps of: providing a number of anchor rods, providing a ring-shaped formwork, arranging the anchor rods in a pit in the ground, arranging the formwork in engagement with the anchor rods so as to be supported thereby, casting a concrete element, casting a second casting layer in a groove in the concrete element, the groove being provided by the formwork, lowering the base flange onto the second casting layer, and fixing the base flange to the concrete element.

The present invention relates to a wind turbine tower suspension arrangement comprising magnetic attachment means adapted to magnetically secure the suspension arrangement to an inner surface portion of the wind turbine tower. The suspension arrangement further comprises guiding means adapted to guide an element suspended in a substantially longitudinal direction of the wind turbine tower, the guiding means being connected to the magnetic attachments means. Moreover, the present invention relates to the method for applying a wind turbine tower suspension arrangement.

Adjustable suspension arrangement for wind turbine towers

Embodiments of the invention provide a foundation for a wind turbine. The foundation includes a section which is partly embedded in a concrete section and a cover which is arranged across an intersection between the embedded section and the concrete section. In that way, intrusion of water between the sections can be prevented effectively, and the lifetime of the foundation can be increased and/or the maintenance costs can be reduced. A method of making a foundation for a wind turbine and a wind turbine with the foundation are also disclosed.

The present invention relates to a method for damping oscillations in a wind turbine comprising a wind turbine tower, a nacelle arranged on top of said wind turbine tower, and a number of rotor blades rotatably connected to the nacelle. The oscillations to be damped originate from forces induced on the nacelle and the wind turbine tower by the rotating rotor blades. The method comprises the steps of providing an internally suspended pendulum mass structure being operationally connected to an upper tower section, providing a platform being fixedly attached to the upper tower section, and providing damping means comprising one or more friction members being displaceably arranged relative to the platform, the one or more friction members being adapted to be displaced relative to the platform in response to relative movements between the suspended pendulum mass structure and the platform in order to dissipate energy from the suspended pendulum mass structure by friction.
