The present disclosure relates to a saw, comprising a drive, a first blade configured to oscillate about an axis perpendicular to a plane defined by a surface of the first blade, a second blade configured to oscillate about an axis perpendicular to the plane in a direction opposite to that of the first blade, and wherein gearing is provided between the drive and the first and second blades to reduce the speed transmitted from the drive to the blades. A saw blade, a connection mechanism for connecting a blade to a saw and associated methods are also provided.

An intramedullary device includes an intramedullary nail extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end, the nail including a channel extending longitudinally therethrough and an opening extending laterally through a wall thereof proximate the distal end, the channel including a ramped surface along a distal portion thereof opposite the opening. The device further includes a wire extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end, the wire sized and shaped to be inserted into the channel of the nail such that the distal end engages the ramped surface to extend through the opening.

A sacral fixation implant can include at least one implant segment, a guide wire, and at least one locking member that is configured to fix the implant segment to the guide wire. The implant segment can be configured to be secured to an ilium bone, and the guide wire can be configured to be secured to the sacrum. The implant can include first and second implant segments that are configured to be secured to opposed ilium bones, such that a first locking member is configured to fix the first implant segment to the guide wire, and a second locking member is configured to fix the second implant segment to the guide wire.

A mandibular bone plate () can include a body () that defines a bone facing surface (), an outer surface () that is opposite the bone facing surface, and a plurality of bone anchor holes () that extend through the body from the bone facing surface to the outer surface. The body can include a chin portion () and first () and second () extension portions that extend from the chin portion such that the bone facing surface of the chin portion faces the inferior surface of the mandible when the mandibular bone plate is attached to the mandible and the bone facing surfaces of the first and second extension portions at least partially face the lingual surface of the mandible when the mandibular bone plate is attached to the mandible.

Sacral fixation implants can include first and second implant segments. One of the first and second implant segments is received in the other of the first and second implant segments, and the first and segments can be fixed with respect to movement toward and away from each other, thereby stabilizing a sacral fracture.

A bone fixation system includes at least one bone fixation member and a bone fixation instrument. The bone fixation member includes a strap and a locking mechanism. The strap can be pulled through the locking mechanism so as to form a loop about a target bone so as to secure first and second bone segments in an approximated, compressed configuration. The bone fixation instrument is configured to apply tension to the loop about the target bone. The fixation instrument includes a tension assembly that is configured to secure a free end of the bone fixation member to the fixation instrument. The tension assembly is further configured to pull the free end so as to increase tension in the loop while the tension in the loop is less than a select tension. The tension assembly is unable to further increase tension in the bone fixation member once the tension in the bone fixation member has reached the select tension. The fixation instrument further includes a cutter assembly that is configured to cut the free end of the bone fixation member so as to separate the free end from the loop.

The body can include a chin portion and first and second extension portions that extend from the chin portion such that the bone facing surface of the chin portion faces the inferior surface of the mandible when the mandibular bone plate is attached to the mandible and the bone facing surfaces of the first and second extension portions at least partially face the lingual surface of the mandible when the mandibular bone plate is attached to the mandible.
