The invention relates to a hydraulic device with a supply line for pressurized hydraulic fluid and with a lubricating pump that is connected to the supply line in a fluidic fashion. The lubricating pump comprises a hydraulic inlet, a pump element for conveying a lubricant from a reservoir to at least one lubricating point of the hydraulic device, and mechanism for producing a pump stroke of the pump element. The mechanism for producing a pump stroke comprises a base body, a piston unit movable in the base body, and a reversing mechanism for reversing the direction of movement of at least one element of the piston unit. The reversing mechanism comprises at least one bypass formed by at least one recess, and at least one elastic element acting upon the piston unit in a first direction oriented toward the hydraulic inlet whereby the piston unit can be displaced in the base body in an oscillating fashion between a closed position in which a fluid connection between the hydraulic inlet and the hydraulic outlet is blocked, and an open position in which said fluid connection is unblocked in order to produce a pump stroke of the pump element.

Hydraulic device with a lubricating pump

A hand operated pump for generating negative and positive air pressure. The pump includes a pump body having a pump cylinder and a piston mounted for reciprocation in the cylinder. A selector valve communicates with the cylinder and is moveable between a positive-pressure position and a negative-pressure position. The arrangement is such that operation of an actuator to move the piston through a power stroke when the selector valve is in its negative-pressure position causes the pump to generate negative pressure at an outlet of the pump, and operation of the actuator to move the piston through a power stroke when the selector valve is in its positive-pressure position causes the pump to generate positive pressure at the outlet of the pump. A method of operating such a pump is also disclosed.

A pump having a compressed-air-operated reciprocating motor for reciprocating a pump plunger through forward and return strokes. The motor comprises a motor cylinder and a motor piston operable in the cylinder and itself acting as a valve for effecting its return through each return stroke. A fluid dispenser is driven by the plunger between a charge position for charging a dispensing chamber with fluid and a discharge position for discharging fluid.

The method involves the steps of spraying lubricant on a rotating object, and synchronizing the duration of spray to the rotation of the object so that the spray continues only for an interval of spray time corresponding to rotation of the object through a predetermined range of rotation. A dispenser for ejecting a volume of fluid. The dispenser is adapted for connection thereof in a system for supplying fluid under pressure thereto for charging it with fluid to be dispensed. A system for delivery of the volume of fluid ejected by the dispenser includes a discharge valve adapted to be closed for the charging of the dispenser and to be opened for ejecting the volume. An energy accumulator for accumulating energy for actuating the dispenser to eject the volume of fluid is accumulative of the dispenser-actuable energy in response to the supplying of fluid under pressure to the dispenser for charging it.

A reciprocating pump comprising a cylinder and a plunger reciprocable in the cylinder, a member at one end of the cylinder having an axial passage in which the plunger is axially slidable, and a seal between the member and the plunger. The pump is characterized in having a sleeve for protecting the seal from the effects of relatively high pressure and pressure fluctuations of fluid in the cylinder. The sleeve surrounds the plunger and is fixed in position inwardly of the member and has an axial bore in line with the axial passage in the member. The sleeve blocks communication from within the cylinder to the axial passage in the member except for such communication as there may be through the bore in the sleeve to the axial passage in the member. The plunger is axially slidable in the bore. The sleeve has internal grooving establishing a pressure reducing path for fluid from the inner to the outer end of the sleeve for reducing the pressure and fluctuations in pressure of fluid from the cylinder on the seal.
