A stack hinge is formed by stacking a plurality of plate hinge parts each having the same shape. Each of the plate hinge parts has a tab having a pin through hole for engagement with a joint pin and a joint portion joined to a panel of a unit box. The plate hinge parts are stacked by aligning the pin through holes and fixed together to assemble the plate hinge parts into a single hinge member.

Fuel cell unit box and fuel cell

A fuel cell stack includes a load receiver provided at an outer end of a fuel cell unit, a guide receiver provided in a box, and a pressure receiver provided in at least one corner in the box. The guide receiver abuts against the load receiver for receiving the external load. The pressure receiver protrudes toward the fuel cell unit. The pressure receiver abuts against a corner of the fuel cell unit for receiving the load. The pressure receiver has a resin receiver, and the resin receiver abuts against a curved portion of the fuel cell unit for supporting the fuel cell unit.

Fuel cell stack

A coolant inlet manifold for coolant supply passages is attached to an end plate of a fuel cell stack. Pillars are provided on at least one end of the coolant inlet manifold in a longitudinal direction thereof. The pillars are fitted into through holes formed in the end plate, and are connected to a manifold body and to a connector.

A fuel cell stack includes a box-shaped casing and a stack body in the box-shaped casing. The stack body is formed by stacking a plurality of unit cells. The casing includes end plates, a plurality of side plates, angle members, and coupling pins. The angle members couple adjacent ends of the side plates. The coupling pins couple the end plates and the side plates.

A casing includes end plates, side plates, and a hinge mechanism for coupling the end plates and the side plates. A power generation area is defined by the distance Land the distance L. When first hinges and second hinges of the hinge mechanism are provided alternately, the first hinges and the second hinges are positioned within the distance L. Preferably, the length of the shaft of a coupling pin is not more than the length L. A fuel cell stack includes a stack body formed by stacking a plurality of unit cells in a horizontal direction. The stack body is held in a casing including end plates. Further, the casing includes a plurality of side plates provided on sides of the stack body. The end plates and the side plates are coupled by coupling pins. Each of the side plates has a plurality of separate second coupling portions, and the coupling pins are inserted into the coupling portions.

A side plate of a casing includes bracket members and a surface member. Each of the bracket members includes three second coupling portions and a plate-shaped attachment portion provided integrally with the second coupling portions. A coupling pin is inserted into the second coupling portions. The surface member is joined to the plate-shaped attachment portion. The bracket member includes a step fitted to an end of the surface member. The plate-shaped attachment portion and the surface member are jointed at a spot welding section including spots in a zigzag pattern.

A fuel cell stack includes side plates of a casing. Flanges are provided on the side plates on the short sides for coupling the side plates on the short sides to the other side plates on the long sides. In each of the side plates, the center O of the coupling pin is offset from the neutral surface NS of the side plate in a direction away from a stack body by the distance 'h'.

A vehicle mounting structure for a fuel cell includes a fuel cell box which accommodates a fuel cell stack inside. The fuel cell box includes a bottom frame on which the fuel cell stack is mounted, a top frame, the bottom frame and the top frame sandwiching the fuel cell stack, a side frame which forms a framework of the fuel cell box and which is connected to the bottom frame and to the top frame, a bottom holddown member which fixes a bottom portion of the fuel cell stack to the bottom frame, and a top holddown member which fixes a top portion of the fuel cell stack to the top frame. Structural members which are required to carry a fuel cell stack are reduced in weight and miniaturized in size while ensuring the desired installation rigidity when the fuel cell stack is carried.
