Apparatuses and methods for controlling a manner of delivering content to a content user in a mobile telecommunication network are provided. The content is sent to the content user using first a first transmission rate when the content user is in a first radio state and uses a first battery power, and then using a second transmission rate that is lower than the first transmission rate, when the content user is in a second radio state and uses a second battery power that is smaller than the first battery power. The sending is performed such as, (A) while delivering the content, an amount of the content already received by the content user to exceed an amount of the content used by the content user, and (B) to minimize an energy used by the content user during delivery.

Methods and apparatuses for efficient battery utilization during content delivery in telecommunication networks

A method for enabling traffic acceleration in a mobile telecommunication network. The method includes the steps of receiving, at a Radio Network Node, a reply message from a content delivery provider located outside the mobile telecommunication network; intercepting the reply message; extracting a token from the reply message; comparing the token with a stored token in the Radio Network Node; replacing in the reply message, an Internet protocol IP address of a content delivery provider server with a preset IP address corresponding to an acceleration edge server in the mobile network, when there is a match between the token and the stored token; and sending from the Radio Network Node the modified reply message to a mobile terminal.

Method and system for mobility support for caching adaptive HTTP streaming content in cellular networks

Methods, devices and software enable uploading a file from a user equipment to an Internet storage service server via a mobile cellular network. A method includes (A) uploading sequential chunks of the file from the user equipment via a cell of the mobile cellular network, (B) sending a first message requesting to pause the uploading, to the user equipment upon receiving an indication that the cell is overloaded, (C) storing a length corresponding to the sequential chunks that have been uploaded until the uploading has been paused, and (D) sending a second message requesting to resume the uploading, to the user equipment. The user equipment pauses the uploading upon receiving the first message and resumes the uploading using an offset from the beginning of the file corresponding to the length upon receiving the second message.

Methods and devices for controlled data upload in mobile cellular networks

A wireless receiving device and a method for receiving a transmission from a transmitting device following a broadcast transmission of a plurality of packets are provided. During the broadcast transmission, packets successfully received have been acknowledged and stored in a memory associated with the receiving device and unsuccessfully received packets have been negatively acknowledged. The method comprises receiving a retransmission of a packet from the transmitting device and sending, to the transmitting device, an acknowledge, ACK, message with respect to the received retransmitted packet. The method further comprises decoding the received retransmitted packet using stored previously successfully decoded packets, wherein if the received retransmitted packet is successfully decoded then the method comprises decoding stored previously partially decoded packets using the successfully decoded packet. The method also comprises storing the successfully decoded packet and/or the partially decoded packet.

The present invention relates to methods and arrangements to optimize load transportation between a P2P live streaming network and an access network.
