In various embodiments, compact connector designs may be provided that have reduced board pitch (e.g., 1.80 mm, 1.50 mm, 1.27 mm, etc.), but are still capable of accommodating large electrical conductors (e.g., 1.4 mm, 1.1 mm, 0.9 mm, etc.). In this manner, PCB footprint may be reduced (e.g., by 50% when a staggered connector configuration is used), while adequate current carrying capacity may be maintained (e.g., 2 A, 3 A, 4 A, etc.). Additionally, or alternatively, one or more other advantages may be achieved, such as ruggedness (e.g., vibration endurance), error proofing, configuration flexibility, ease of manufacturing, ease of assembly, and/or lowered costs.

High density electrical connectors

A pin receiving terminal contact and a connector comprising one or more of such terminal contacts. The terminal contacts () comprise a base () comprising a folded strip and at least a first contact beam () having a root end extending from said base () and a contact face () bent sideward under an angle with said root end.

Connector and pin receiving contact for such a connector

An electrical connector assembly comprises a first connector having an outer housing having an activatable latch flexibly attached thereto, the latch having a lock tab located thereon; an inner housing mounted in the outer housing, the inner housing having first and second prongs integrally formed with the inner housing and configured to continuously bias the latch; and a second connector comprising a cavity formed on a surface thereof. Continuously biasing the latch by the first and second prongs causes the engagement of the lock tab of the first connector with the cavity of the second connector to lock the first connector to the second connector.

The shield cover includes a first cover member and a second cover member. The shield cover surrounds the housing. The first cover member includes a first cover member latching section having a first lateral side with inward projecting hooks and an opposite second lateral side with outward projecting hooks. The second cover member has a second cover member latching section with a first lateral side with inward projecting hooks and an opposite second lateral side with outward projecting hooks. The inward projecting hooks of the first cover member latching section is latched to the outward projecting hooks of the second cover member latching section, and the inward projecting hooks of the second cover member latching section is latched to the outward projecting hooks of the first cover member latching section.

Electrical connector having a shielding member with two halves each with inwardly and outwardly projecting hooks

An electrical terminal includes an electrically conductive monolithic body including a mating end having a base, a contact beam spaced from the base in an upward direction, a side wall that extends from the base to the contact beam, and a spring assist member. The contact beam can be elastically flexible from an initial position whereby the spring assist member is spaced from the contact beam in the upward direction, to a deflected position whereby the contact beam abuts the spring assist member. The electrical is suited for assembly into a connector assembly which includes and inner core and an outer housing.

Electrical connector with high retention force

A connector assembly including a first connector, a second connector and a latch for connecting the first and second connectors. A securing lock is rotatable between a release position and a securing position securing the latch in a latching position. Optionally, the assembly includes a sliding guide and a resilient element forcing the securing lock to slide via the sliding guide into the securing position.

Connector assembly

A connector assembly including a first connector and a second connector connectable by a latch. The latch has a snap end for engaging a snap section and an opposite lock end. The latch includes a pivot section between the snap end and the lock end enabling a pivoting movement between a snap position and a release position. A lock is provided immobilizing the lock end of the latch to secure the latch in the snap position by blocking the pivoting movement.
