Systems and methods for relaying a plurality of data packets to and from a subscriber over an access network that imparts a variable latency of one packet relative to other packets. The latency of each packet is controlled so as to increase the average latency experienced by the plurality of packets and decrease the variance of the respective latencies experienced by each of the packets.

A Data Over Cable Interface Specification (DOCSIS) node includes a first DOCSIS port and a second DOCSIS port. The node also includes a plurality of radio frequency (RF) ports. A plurality of client devices can be coupled to the RF ports. A RF switching network is coupled between the first DOCSIS port and the second DOCSIS port, and the plurality of RF ports. One or more control circuits can switch the RF switching network between at least a first state and a second state. The switching of the RF switching network allows the one or more control circuits to identify which client devices are coupled to which RF ports of the node.

In one embodiment, a method receives a downstream signal and an upstream signal in a same frequency band. The downstream signal and the upstream signal are separated into a first path and a second path. The downstream signal using the first path and the upstream signal using the second path are amplified in an analog domain. The method isolates the downstream signal and the upstream signal from one another and sends the downstream signal downstream to a subscriber device and sends the upstream signal towards a full duplex node.

In some embodiments, a method sets a threshold over a frequency spectrum and receives a set of measurements that measures interference between a set of network devices over the frequency spectrum. A set of metric values based on the set of measurements is compared to the threshold at a plurality of points over the frequency spectrum. The method then selects whether the set of network devices are in a group that interfere with communications of each other based on the comparing.

In some embodiments, a method receives a first signal that is sent in a first direction in a network. Communications in the network are full duplex communications in a same frequency band. The first signal is amplified in the first direction. The method trains a first echo canceller to cancel a first echo signal from the first signal where the first echo signal is received in a second direction. After training the first echo canceller, the trained first echo canceller is enabled. The method receives a second signal in the second direction that is sent in the second direction in the network. The second signal is amplified in the second direction. The method trains a second echo canceller to cancel a second echo signal received in the first direction from the second signal where the first echo canceller cancels the first echo signal that is received in the second direction.

A fiber optic node includes an electronics equipment enclosure. The electronics equipment enclosure includes a lid and a base defining an overall interior space of the electronics equipment enclosure. The lid includes a lid top and a lid mating surface to contact and overlap a base mating surface of the base to close the electronics equipment enclosure. The lid further includes at least one lid side wall extending away from the lid top.
