A method and a system for landing and terrain flight assistance are provided herein. The method may include the following steps: obtaining, by at least one imaging sensor disposed on an aerial platform, at least two images of at least a portion of a specified region of a terrain; determining, based on the at least two images, a 3D model of at least a portion of the specified region; receiving a predetermined model of at least a portion of the specified region; determining a real-world geographic location of the aerial platform based on the 3D model and the predetermined model; and determining flight instructions based on the 3D model and the determined geographic location of the aerial platform.

Systems and methods for landing and terrain flight assistance

A mixed A mixed reality system, comprising: a sensor configured to acquire readings of real-world data, and display, on an output device, a real-world visualization of the real-world data based on the readings to a user, wherein the sensor has one or more parameters affecting the real-world visualization; and a processing circuitry configured to: obtain (a) information of one or more virtual entities located within an area from which the readings are acquired, the information defining, for each of the virtual entities, one or more simulated physical properties, and (b) values of one or more situational parameters indicative of a state of the sensor during acquisition of the readings, wherein the values of the one or more situational parameters are readings of one or more situational sensors, sensing the state of the sensor and its surroundings during acquisition of the readings; determine, for at least one given virtual entity of the virtual entities, a virtual entity visualization of the given virtual entity, the virtual entity visualization determined by manipulating a simulated reading of the simulated physical properties based on (a) the parameters affecting the real-world visualization, and (b) the values of the situational parameters; and display the virtual entity visualizations in combination with the real-world visualization, thereby enabling a user viewing the output device to view the virtual entity visualizations and the real-world visualization.

System and method for mixed reality

A mixed reality system, comprising: a data acquisition device configured to acquire real-world data; an output device for providing the real-world data to a user; and a processing circuitry configured to: obtain (a) data acquired by the data acquisition device, and (b) information of one or more virtual entities having properties enabling determination of simulated effects of the virtual entities on the data; determine the simulated effects of the virtual entities on the data utilizing the properties; and provide the user with output on the output device being a manipulation of the data reflecting the simulated effects.

Embodiments are directed towards automatically creating a cinemagraph on at least an imaging device, where the cinemagraph can be created without additional user interaction beyond capturing an initial sequence of images, and indicating that a cinemagraph is to be created from the sequence. Automatic creation of the cinemagraph includes selecting an anchor frame within the sequence and aligning the other frames to the anchor frame. Detection and segmentation of moving objects within the sequence, with respect to the anchor frame are performed. A mask is generated and refined. Segmentation of masks are then unified, and combined with a background from the anchor frame to generate an animated sequence.

Method for creating automatic cinemagraphs on an imagine device

A system, method, and computer program product for selecting qualifying frames from an image sequence for use in subsequent stitching into a composite panoramic image are disclosed. Incoming frames from any source may be cropped and downscaled prior to evaluation against qualifying criteria relating to image overlap and local motion. Qualifying images are saved and/or output. The resulting panoramic image generally uses fewer qualifying images and appears smoother and has fewer artifacts than those of the prior art. The qualifying criterion for image overlap is a predetermined overlap margin or percentage between a current image and a previous image from the sequence. The qualifying criterion for image motion includes a maximum amount of local motion, often due to passing objects. The embodiments may process incoming images in real time or from stored sequences. Problems may trigger user warnings.

In camera implementation of selecting and stitching frames for panoramic imagery

A digital camera captures a sequence of frames such that captured frames of the sequence alternate between sets of frames, in which each frame in the set has a different exposure setting. Each set of frames includes a nominal exposure frame. For each set of frames of the sequence that is captured after the reference set of frames has been captured, a determination is made as to whether or not the captured set of frames should be saved, based, at least in part, on overlap. For each of the saved sets of frames, the frames in the set are aligned with each other, and then image mixing of the frames in the set of frames is performed to generate a high dynamic range image. A panoramic, high dynamic range image is generated from each of the high dynamic range images.
