To provide a water-in-oil emulsified composition which highly encapsulates a water content, has high viscosity, and is excellent in emulsification stability. The water-in-oil emulsified composition of the present disclosure comprises a dispersion medium comprising an oil content, and an oil-soluble copolymer having a monomer unit obtained from a specific hydrophilic monomer, and a monomer unit obtained from a specific hydrophobic monomer; and water droplets dispersed in the dispersion medium, wherein the oil content contains 60% by mass or more of polar oil with an IOB of 0.10 or more, and wherein the water droplets contain water and a surfactant, and the content of the water is 30% by mass or more based on the total amount of the composition.

Water-in-oil emulsion composition

Aqueous compositions can be thickened without increasing stringiness, by using polymers of polyacrylic acid, poly(2-acryamide-2-methylpropanesulfonate), or salts thereof, having a weight average molecular weights of 500,000 to 8,000,000 as thickeners. The polymers contain no more than 10 mass % of polymers having a molecular weight of 10,000,00 or more, and/or contain no more than 10 mass % of polymers having more than three times the weight average molecular weight. Aqueous solutions of these polymers exhibit a low degree of stringiness, and are particularly useful as thickeners for cosmetics.

Low-stringiness thickener and cosmetic material admixed with said thickener

Provided is an elastomer that improves the skin feel of an inorganic powder. The elastomer according to the present invention is an elastomer comprising: (A) an amino group-containing silicone polymer; and (B) a carboxyl group-containing silicone polymer or a carboxyl group-containing acrylamide polymer, wherein a molar ratio Y/X between amino groups and carboxyl groups is within a range of 0.1 to 1.2, wherein Y denotes the molar amount of carboxyl groups contained in the component (B), and X denotes the molar amount of amino groups contained in the component (A).

Elastomer

The present invention provides an oil-in-water emulsion composition thickened with a hydrophobically modified polyether urethane, the composition having improved high-temperature stability and giving a pudding-like unique feeling. The invention provides an elastic jelly-like composition characterized in that a hydrophobically modified polyether urethane has been incorporated into an oil-in-water emulsion including oil droplets with an average particle diameter of 150 nm or smaller. The elastic jelly-like composition is transparent or translucent, gives a pudding-like elastic feeling, has excellent viscosity stability at high temperatures, and is suitable for use as a cosmetic-preparation base. The hydrophobically modified polyether urethane is especially preferably a PEG-240/decyltetradeceth-20/HDI copolymer.

Elastic jelly-like composition

To provide a thickening composition which exhibits excellent feelings in use, namely, exhibits excellent freshness, non-stickiness and blend into skin feeling, and does not leave any residue on skin, which can stably keep the viscosity thereof in a low to moderate-level viscosity range and which, even when a salt-type ingredient is incorporated therein, does not undergo viscosity change, and also a cosmetic preparation containing the composition. A thickening composition which comprises (a) from 0.1 to 2% by mass of a specific hydrophobic denatured polyether urethane (associative thickener) and (b) from 0.1 to 2% by mass of a microgel to be obtained by grinding a gel of a hydrophilic compound having a gelling capability, in a ratio of component (a)/component (b) of from 0.1/0.9 to 0.9 to 0.1 (by mass), and which has a viscosity of from 50 to 50,000 mPa&#xb7;s (with BL-type viscometer, 12 rotations, 25&#xb0; C.); and a cosmetic preparation containing the thickening composition.

Thickening composition and cosmetic preparation containing the same

The present invention provides a cosmetic that contains glycerin modified on both ends with silicone represented by the following general formula (a).  In this formula, R1 denotes a straight chain or branched alkyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms or phenyl group, R2 denotes an alkylene group having 2-11 carbon atoms, m is 10-120, and n is 1-11. The object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic that contains glycerin modified on both ends with silicone and is superior in terms of the sensation during use and the powder dispersion stability.
