Example implementations relate to automatically identifying regressions. Some implementations may include a data capture engine to capture data points during test executions of the application under test. The data points may include, for example, test action data and application action data. Additionally, some implementations may include a data correlation engine to correlate each of the data points with a particular test execution of the test executions, and each of the data points may be correlated based on a sequence of events that occurred during the particular test execution. Furthermore, some implementations may also include a regression identification engine to automatically identify, based on the correlated data points, a regression between a first version of the application under test and a second version of the application under test.

Monitoring resources of a computing device during testing of software applications provides useful feedback to developers and implementers of the software application. By periodically collecting system counter data during automated testing of the software application, and correlating the collected data to a state of the test, the actions of the test causing any undesirable resource issues can be readily identified.

Embodiments of a maintenance mode for automated testing are provided. In this regard, an embodiment of a system, among others, comprises a software application; a test script for testing the software application; an object repository comprising objects belonging to the software application; and a maintenance mode, wherein if a step in the test script fails, the maintenance mode prompts a tester to change at least one of the test script and the object repository.
