A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, a panel driver board, and flexible circuit boards. The liquid crystal panel has a substantially round shape and includes linear edge sections formed by linearly cutting out outer edge portions. The panel driver board is configured to supply signals related to image display to the liquid crystal panel. The flexible circuit boards include first ends and second ends. The first ends are mounted to the liquid crystal panel aligned with the linear edge sections with respect to the circumferential direction in a non-display area. The second ends are mounted to the panel driver board. Portions of the flexible circuit boards joining the first ends and the second ends have bending shapes in a plan view.

Display device

A scanning signal is precisely output to a scanning signal line corresponding to a row range even in a case where a plurality of scanning signals (including a precharge signal) are output at the same time. A display control circuit of the display device sets row selection enable signals at H level so that main charging periods are set in a range from an ith row to an mth row, which corresponds to a moving image region, and precharging periods corresponding to the main charging periods are also set. Accordingly, a precise scanning signal in which a precharging period having a necessary length is set and no unnecessary precharging period is set at all is output to each of scanning signal lines connected to a scanning signal line driving circuit, so that deterioration of display quality is prevented.

Display device and display method

By a simple circuit configuration, luminance unevenness is suppressed, and charge remaining after a power source supply is interrupted is suppressed. A slope control unit () generates a switch control signal (Von) having a waveform with a falling slope, by switching between a grounded state of being connected to a ground and an ungrounded state, and modulating the waveform of a high voltage (VGH), and in a case where a power supply from the outside is interrupted, the slope control unit () is in the ungrounded state.
