A process for folding or folding over pockets with round edge sections is provided along with a device for carrying out the process. Round folding slides ( ), provided with concave folding edges ( ), are either moved or designed such that their ends ( ), either one after another or simultaneously, lead in relation to the middle area of the concave folding edges ( ). An especially intense folding effect is thus exerted on the transition areas between the round and straight pocket edge sections and a pocked folded edge that is uniform on all sides is thus obtained.

Method and device for folding round pockets

To sew presewn flaps (P) on a fabric part (W), the flap (P) is positioned in its later position of use in a movable fabric holder of a sewing unit, and it partially overlaps a pocket (T) to be sewn on the fabric part (W). After the workpiece parts (W, P, T) have been fed to the sewing machine, the flap (P) is first connected to the fabric part (W) by a seam (N1). The part of the flap (P) overlapping the pocket (T) is then folded over and the pocket (T) is then connected by a seam (N2) to the fabric part (W).

Process and sewing unit for sewing a flap and a pocket on a fabric part

A folding device is provided for an automatic sewing machine for folding over at least two edge strips of a first fabric part. The edge strips extend at an angle to one another and the first fabric part will be sewn on a second fabric part. The device includes a support plate for the second fabric part, a folding plate movable in relation to the support plate for the first fabric part, and a carrier plate. The carrier plate is movable in relation to the support plate and the folding plate for a pressing plate that can be placed on the first fabric part. At least two folding slides are provided which are arranged at an angle in relation to one another and which are connected to a drive means each. The folding plate and the pressing plate have at least one edge strip each, whose angle is adjustable, and the angle of at least one of the folding slides is adjustable.

Folding device for an automatic sewing machine

A sewing unit with a feed device for a fabric holder with support elements that can be moved along a guide and are connected to a drive each for feed means acting on the fabric holder. A fabric being sewn can be transported to or removed from the sewing machine by the feed device over any desired distance and the feed movement of the fabric being sewn can be brought about without problems during passage through the stitch formation site of the sewing machine even at very high stitch frequency because of the favorable dynamic properties. The guides are arranged in the same direction, and the support elements can be driven synchronously for a movement of the fabric holder in parallel to the guides, and at mutually different velocities for a movement in a direction deviating from the direction.

Sewing unit with a feed device

A sewing arrangement is provided with a feed device which comprises a drive device, a pitman drive, and a work holder received by a support. The feed device, designed so as to be subject to little wear, permits the execution of purely translatory movements with great accuracy, in that the pitman drive has associated with it a parallel guiding means which together with the pitman drive is articulated to the support of the work holder.
