The invention relates to solid-state electrolytes for use in lithium-air batteries or in lithium-water batteries. It is the object of the invention to provide solid electrolyte for use in lithium-air batteries or lithium-water batteries, with the solid electrolyte having sufficient strength, good conductivity for lithium ions, imperviousness for gas and water resistance and being inexpensive in manufacture. The solid-state electrolyte in accordance with the invention has an open-pore ceramic carrier substrate. In this respect, at least one layer which is conductive for lithium ions, which has an electrical conductivity of at least 10Scmand which is gas-impervious is formed on the surface facing the cathode. In this respect, the carrier substrate has greater mechanical strength and a larger layer thickness than the at least one layer.

Solid-state electrolyte for use in lithium-air batteries or in lithium-water batteries

A composition is for the manufacture of glass solders for high-temperature applications up to temperatures of approximately 1000&#xb0; C., which composition, having no ZrO, has SiOat a proportion in the range from 48 mol-% to 62 mol %, AlOat a proportion in the range from 0.5 mol % to 6 mol %, BOat a proportion in the range 4 mol % to 12 mol %, BaO at a proportion in the range 12 mol % to 30 mol %, and either CaO at a proportion in the range from 2.5 mol % to 15 mol %, or an ROat a proportion in the range 0.5 mol % to 20 mol % where the ROis selected from LaO, YO, ScO, and from a further oxide of a chemical element from the series of lanthanoids, wherein the SiO:BaO ratio is in the range from 1.9 to 4.
