The invention relates to a lock, in particular for a household appliance such as a tumble drier, a washing machine, a dishwasher or the like, having a movable retaining element, which is configured in particular in the manner of a slide. The retaining element interacts with a closure hook located on a closure element, such as a door, a cover, a flap or the like of the household appliance, which can be moved between an open and a closed state. The closure hook, in the closed state of the closure element, engages into the retaining element. Here, the closure hook is held by the retaining element in contact against a blocking face in such a way that a movement of the closure element into the open state is blocked. The blocking face is designed so as to be pivotable in the manner of a positive opener.

Lock for a household appliance

A closing mechanism for a movable closing element, preferably for a door, a cover or a flap on a household appliance, such as a dishwasher, a washing machine, or a refrigerator, the mechanism comprises a carriage that can be displaced between a locking position and an unlocking position and is loaded by a spring force in the direction of the locking position. The carriage carries a closing hook that can be engaged with the closing element for the closing action and/or disengaged therefrom for the opening action. A rotary latch co-operates with the closing element during the closing action. As a result of this co-operation, the rotary latch acts on the carriage in such a way that the carriage is displaced into the locking position during the closing of the closing element by the force of the spring.

Closing mechanism for a household appliance

An electrical switch, in the form of a short-stroke key is provided, including a housing having a base and a cover fixed to the base. A contact system is located in the housing, and an actuating member acts on the contact system in a switching manner. The base has a cutout in the underside that is positioned remote from the cover. The cover at least partially covers the base on the upper side and on the side face of the base, and an attachment on the cover engages the cutout in a flange manner such that the attachment is accommodated in the base and is at the most flush with the underside of the base.
