In a dynamic scale and a weighing method therefor, an object to be weighed is received on a weighing unit of the dynamic scale and weight information of the object on the weighing unit is detected by the weighing unit. The weight information includes a number of items of weight information, which are supplied to a processor, and a derived weight value is determined in the processor by evaluation of a predetermined number of the items of weight information, and a quality value for the derived weight value is also determined in the processor by evaluation of the predetermined number of items of weight information. Depending on the quality value, it is established, in the processor, that the derived weight value is a valid weight value and, when it is established that the derived weight value is a valid weight value, the weighing unit is then fed with a new object.

A dynamic scale has multiple weighing units, each equipped with a weighing cell and a weighing pan, the weighing pan lying in an upper plane and the weighing cell between a lower plane spaced from the upper plane in the direction of gravity. A transport device has a motor encoder and sensors, with the encoder and sensors being electrically connected with the inputs of a control unit. The multiple weighing units are serially adjacent in a transport path, with simultaneous cascaded arrangement of the weighing cells in the direction of gravity. The control unit simultaneously starts the weighing processes in all weighing cells in a dynamic weighing mode and controls a transport motor depending on signals of the sensors and the encoder and controls the dynamic scale depending on signals from the weighing cells.

Dynamic scale with multiple, cascaded weighing pans, and method to operate the dynamic scale with cascaded weighing of items moving therethrough

A fast, dynamic scale has a weighing unit formed by a weighing cell and a transport mechanism with a first motor to drive the transport mechanism. The transport mechanism) is arranged with the motor on the weighing cell, so the weighing cell is loaded with a preliminary load. A first sensor is located at the beginning of the weighing unit. This first sensor emits a first signal to a control unit to start the weighing process for a cargo piece B. A second sensor emits a second signal to the control unit that thereupon generates a communication that a cargo piece Bn following the cargo piece B can be supplied. A weighing unit with a shortened effective length for the weighing is provided. The shortened length allows the interval between successive cargo pieces to be correspondingly shortened. A switchable extraction device is arranged after the weighing unit in the transport direction. The control unit controls the cargo piece transport by means of a third motor of the extraction device and to control the extraction device depending on the length of the cargo piece and on the termination of the weight determination as a result of the weighing, with the extraction device being switched by an actuator.

In a method for controlling a print head with a number of printing elements operating according to the thermotransfer principle, an energy quantity is fed to a printing element in a feed step in order to transfer ink from an ink carrier device associated with the print head to a substrate associated with the ink carrier device to generate an image point of a barcode, with the energy quantity being adjusted dependent on the position of the image point in the barcode.

A plug connection for an ink supply, which has an ink supply connector, allows removable connection of the ink supply to an ink-consuming component that carries a rapid action cartridge coupling that forms a fluid connection with the ink supply connector. An ink connection holder is attachable to the ink supply connector and has an opening therein receives the rapid action cartridge coupling. An unlocking element releasable holds the ink connection holder to the ink supply connector when the rapid action cartridge coupling is inserted therein. The ink connection holder has a guide for the rapid action cartridge coupling, and each of the guide and the rapid action cartridge coupling are coded, with complementary mechanical codings, so that the ink connection holder can receive only an appropriately coded rapid action cartridge coupling.

Plug connection for an ink supply

In a method and printing device, a deviation from a predetermined desired pitch that occurs between at least two points of at least one print image in a print direction is reduced. In a printing step, the at least one print image is generated on a substrate with at least one print head of the printing device with a relative movement between the at least print head and the substrate. In a determination step preceding the printing step, an initial deviation from a desired pitch between the two points is determined first and correction information to reduce the deviation is determined from the determined initial deviation. In the printing step, control signals for the at least one print head are generated depending on the correction information to generate the at least one print image. A variable delay of at least one of the control signals is predetermined by the correction information.

Reduction of pitch errors between points of a print image

In a method and arrangement for generation of an imprint with a printing device operating according to a dot matrix principle (in particular an inkjet principle), a dot pattern is provided for the imprint, with which the printing device image points corresponding to the provided dot pattern on a substrate. For at least one first image point a probability with which the image point is generated is provided. Whether this image point is actually generated on the substrate is determined in a decision step using a random generator and the probability. The image point is generated (or not) in a subsequent step dependent on the result of the decision step.

Method and arrangement for generating a dot matrix imprint with control using random output and probability

In a method for free spraying of the nozzles of an inkjet print head, in particular in a franking and/or addressing machine, in which the print media are directed past a stationary inkjet, at least the nozzles that are not participating in the generation of the current information-conveying print image are freely sprayed onto the current print medium in a mode that is irrelevant for the print image evaluation, while retaining the print position for the inkjet print head. The image-irrelevant mode can be free spraying in a region that is irrelevant for the print image evaluation or in a print pattern that cannot be evaluated. The size and/or number of the dots per pixel is thereby significantly smaller than for an evaluatable pixel. It is thereby ensured that each nozzle is activated at least once during the print image generation. Time is saved and the letter travel is optimized by the retention of the print position.
