Photolabile pro-fragrances may include the ketones of Formula (I)  Such compounds may be used in detergents, cleaning agents, cosmetic agents, air-care agents, and combinations thereof. The photolabile pro-fragrances may create a long-lasting fragrance on surfaces or in a room using the aforementioned pro-fragrances.

Photolabile pro-fragrances

Photolabile scent storage substance that are capable of photoinduced release of cyclic compounds have at least one cyclic double bond. These scent storage substances are special ketones, and enable greatly improved stability of the scent impression, in particular with a fresh character, in typical applications, for example in textile laundering, room scenting, and in the cosmetic sector. More economical utilization of the stored scents can thereby be ensured. Also described are corresponding washing or cleaning agents, scenting methods, and methods for manufacturing the special ketones.

The invention relates to specific ketones of formula (I) which act as photolabile pro-fragrances. The invention also relates to detergents or cleaning agents, cosmetic agents and air fresheners including such ketones. The invention further relates to a method for creating a long-lasting fragrance on surfaces and also to a method for creating a long-lasting fragrance in a room using the aforementioned ketones.

The invention relates to specific ketones of formula (I) which act as photolabile pro-fragrances. The invention further relates to detergents or cleaning agents, cosmetic agents and air freshening products including ketones of said type. The invention also relates to a method for lastingly scenting surfaces and a method for lastingly fragrancing rooms using said ketones.

Fragrances having a fresh character are usually very volatile and therefore not very economical in typical applications such as washing or cleaning processes for example. For that reason they have to be used in relatively large amounts in order to bring about appropriate effects. The present invention describes photolabile pro-fragrances of formula (I) that allow for a greatly improved persistence of the fragrance impression, in particular one having a fresh character, in typical applications. Said pro-fragrances attach very readily to target substrates, such as textiles for example. A more economical use of the fragrances in question can be ensured in this way. 

Fragrances that provide a scent of freshness tend to be volatile and are therefore not very economical when used in typical applications such as washing or cleaning processes, so they have to be used in relatively large quantities to be able to produce adequate effects. The disclosed photolabile pro-fragrances provide a much longer-lasting sense of fragrance, in particular with a scent of freshness, when used in typical applications, thus allowing said fragrances to be used economically.

The present invention relates to a method for producing photocleavable scent precursors, to products containing the scent precursors, and to the use of the scent precursors for prolonging the scent impression in the product and on surfaces treated with the product.

Photolabile fragrance storage substances capable of photo-induced release of odorant aldehydes and odorant ketones are described in addition to a process for long-lasting fragrancing of surfaces and a process for producing said fragrance storage substances.

Corresponding washing or cleaning agents and air freshening agents, and a method for scenting surfaces, are also described.

Photolabile fragrance storage substances capable of the photo-induced release of cyclic compounds having semi-cyclic double bonds are described. Further described is a method for sustained scenting of surfaces and a method for production of said fragrance storage substances.
