A refrigerant compressor, includes an overall housing with a motor housing portion and a compressor housing portion, which has a cylinder housing with a cylinder head. The cylinder head has a cylinder head lower part arranged on the cylinder housing and a cylinder head upper part which closes off the cylinder head and has at least one outlet chamber integrated in the cylinder head upper part, in such a way that it is possible to provide optimal protection for the cylinder head. The cylinder head is covered by a hood which engages over the cylinder head upper part on an upper side facing away from the cylinder head lower part with a hood cover and over the cylinder head in the region of its peripheral side with a hood skirt surrounding the cylinder head.

In a refrigerant compressor comprising an overall housing with a motor housing portion, in which there is arranged a motor chamber having, provided therein, an electric motor comprising a stator and a rotor, and with a compressor housing portion which has a compressor unit, in order to be able to mount the stator as easily as possible it is proposed that the stator is mounted in the motor housing portion by means of supporting elements inserted into the motor housing portion, which supporting elements on the one hand abut against a stator-receiving surface of the motor housing portion and on the other hand surround the stator inserted into the supporting elements on its outer side and support it spring-elastically relative to the stator-receiving surface.

A refrigeration system, in particular a transport refrigeration system, comprising: a refrigerant circuit, which in particular works using COas the refrigerant and in which there is guided a total mass flow of the refrigerant; a high-pressure-side heat exchanger arranged in the refrigerant circuit and cooling refrigerant compressed to a high pressure; at least one cooling stage which expands the principal mass flow from the intermediate-pressure collector to a low pressure in at least one cooling expansion member and in so doing makes refrigeration capacity available at a low-pressure-side heat exchanger; and a refrigerant compressor unit which compresses the principal mass flow from a low pressure to a high pressure, wherein the refrigerant compressor unit has a first compressor stage for compressing, to a medium pressure, the refrigerant of the principal mass flow supplied at low pressure, and a second compressor stage for compressing, to a high pressure, the refrigerant of the principal mass flow that has been compressed to a medium pressure.

For creating a storage unit comprising a container housing enclosing a storage volume for receiving freight and a gaseous medium surrounding said freight, said storage unit further comprising a tempering system provided with a tempering unit associated with said storage volume for maintaining a flow of said gaseous medium circulating in said storage volume and passing through said tempering unit in order to be maintained at a defined or set temperature, said tempering unit comprising an internal heat exchanger arranged in said flow of gaseous medium passing through said tempering unit, said tempering system being provided with a refrigerant circuit comprising said internal heat exchanger, an external heat exchanger exposed to ambient air surrounding said container housing which operates reliably and cost efficient under the aforementioned condition, as well as a compressor unit for compressing refrigerant, and said tempering system being further provided with an engine for driving said compressor unit in an independent power source mode and said tempering system being further provided with an electric motor/generator unit mechanically coupled to said compressor unit, and said compressor unit and said motor/generator unit being commonly driven by said engine in said independent power source mode.
