An exhaust air scrubber for removing dust, abraded product, and water-soluble constituents from process exhaust air may include in a single housing a cleaning stage that includes a droplet separator and a packing disposed below the droplet separator. The exhaust air scrubber may also include an inlet apparatus for process exhaust air disposed in a lower portion of the housing, a withdrawal apparatus for scrubbing solution, and a withdrawal conduit for cleaned exhaust air, with the withdrawal conduit beginning inside the housing above the cleaning stage, passing downward inside the housing, and passing out of the housing to an outside in the lower portion of the housing below the cleaning stage. The scrubber may further include a feed conduit for scrubbing solution in an upper portion of the housing above the cleaning stage.

Air scrubber having an interior air exhaust

Urea production plant and scrubbing system

The present disclosure relates to a method and a device for cooling a solid, in particular a hygroscopic bulk material, in a more energy-efficient manner. For this purpose, an air flow is, if needed, cooled and/or dehumidified and/or subsequently heated in order to reduce the relative humidity of the air flow. The cooling air flow conditioned in this manner is then used in a contact device for cooling the solid, and a heated exhaust air flow is drawn from the contact device. According to the invention, a part of the exhaust air flow is mixed with the air flow in order to pre-heat the air flow and thus reduce the relative humidity of the air flow. In addition, a second part of the exhaust air flow can be mixed with feed air and used in a separate second contact device in order to pre-cool the solid.

The invention is directed to a process for the removal of ammonia from an ammonia-containing gas stream by treating the ammonia in the ammonia-containing gas stream with an acid, during which treatment an aqueous stream comprising an ammonium salt, wherein the aqueous stream comprising the ammonium salt is treated with electrodialysis, whereby the acid is recovered and an aqueos stream comprising an ammonium hydroxide salt is formed.
