Various temporary fixation devices, fixation systems and kits, and methods of fixing a bone plate to a bone are described. A temporary fixation device includes a wire member and a retaining member. The wire member has a proximal end, a distal end, a flange disposed between the proximal end and the distal end, a first portion extending from the proximal end to the flange and defining a first outer diameter, and a second portion extending from the distal end toward the flange and defining a second outer diameter and a second portion outer surface. The retaining member defines an inner passageway and can be disposed on the second portion of the wire member such that the retaining member is movable along the second portion of the wire member, from the distal end to the flange. The elongate member comprises a first material and the stopping member comprises a second material that is different from the first material.

Bone fixation devices, systems, kits, and methods

A bone plate includes a main body defining one or more openings and a cavity. A support member formed of a different material than the material of the main body is disposed in the cavity and defines one or more openings, each of which is coaxial with an opening of the main body. The support member extends into circumferential recesses defined by the main body. Circumferential projections bounding each main body opening are disposed between circumferential projections of the main body and are disposed entirely within the support member. Bone plate systems, methods of treatment, and methods of manufacturing are also described.

Hybrid bone plates and related systems and methods

A bone fixation plate comprises a main body formed of a first material and a support member formed of a second, different material and attached to the main body. The main body defines a first set of openings and the support member defines a second set of openings aligned with the first set of openings. For each opening of the first set of openings, a main body circumferential surface is disposed adjacent and continuous with a support member circumferential surface of the second set of openings to define an opening circumferential surface that bounds an opening of the first set of openings and an opening of the second set of openings.

Hybrid bone plate

A fixation clamp for use in an external fixation system for holding bone fragments adjacent to each other with the help of fixation elements has at least one clamping assembly having a pair of jaws with at least two different size grooves to accommodate a bone fixation element such as a pin or rod. An alternate clamping assembly has at least three grooves wherein at least two of the grooves have a different size adapted to accommodate a correspondingly sized bone fixation element such as a bone pin. The longitudinal axes of the grooves define a polygon. The jaw pairs can be rotated about a central longitudinal axis to present different size reception cavities towards the pins or rocks depending on their diameter.

Fixation clamp

The disclosure relates to medical devices and methods of manufacturing medical devices. An orthopedic screw includes an inner core member having a head having a first outer diameter, a tip having a second outer diameter, and a body extending between the head and the tip and having a third outer diameter that is less than the first outer diameter and the second outer diameter. An outer body member is disposed circumferentially around the body of the inner core member and defines an outer body member external thread. The tip of the inner core member can define an inner core member external thread that forms an interrupted thread with the outer body member external thread.

Hybrid cannulated orthopedic screws

The disclosure relates to medical devices and methods of manufacturing medical devices. An intramedullary rod includes a head member, a shaft member partially disposed within a distal recess of the head member, and an outer body member disposed circumferentially around the shaft member and a portion of the head member. Medical device systems and methods of manufacturing medical devices are also described.

Hybrid intramedullary rods

The disclosure relates to medical devices and methods of manufacturing medical devices. An orthopedic screw includes a shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, a body extending between the proximal end and the distal end, and a longitudinal axis. A distal thread on an external surface of the shaft extends around the longitudinal axis. A head portion includes a series of cutting teeth that lie on a plane that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. A distal tip portion defines a cutting edge.

Removable orthopedic screws

Intramedullary rods, targeting devices, intramedullary rod systems, intramedullary rod kits, and methods of placing an intramedullary rod in a bone are described. An intramedullary rod comprises a head member having a first end, a second end, and a body extending between the first end of the head member and the second end of the head member. The head member is formed of a first material and defines a circumferential flange and a circumferential shoulder. The circumferential flange extends radially outwardly from the head member and the circumferential shoulder is disposed between the first end of the head member and the circumferential flange. A shaft member extends from the head member and a head extension is partially disposed over the head, member. The head extension is formed of a second material that is different than the first material and has an end contacting the circumferential shoulder of the head member.

Intramedullary rod with intrabody outrigger interface

The disclosure relates to orthopedic medical devices for fixating, immobilizing, and manipulating bones, components of these medical devices, and methods. Specific examples relate to external fixation stabilizers and assemblies suitable for spacing a footplate from the ground. An external fixation stabilizer assembly includes a base member that defines an upper cavity and a lower cavity, a spacer defining a passageway, a connector member partially disposed in the lower cavity and extending into the upper cavity and through the spacer passageway, and a footing member attached to the lower surface of the base member. The spacer is movable between a first orientation on the connector in which a portion of the spacer extends into the upper cavity and a second orientation in which no portion of the spacer is disposed in the upper cavity. The disclosure also relates to external fixation systems, external fixation kits, and various related methods.

External fixation stabilizers, systems, kits, and methods

The rod coupler according to the present invention comprises two clamping jaws and locking means for locking said clamping jaws against one another. Each clamping jaw comprises an outside surface and a clamping surface, the latter providing at least a first and a second groove. Each groove runs laterally from a different part of the outside surface extending into the rod coupler, wherein longitudinal axis of the first groove and the second groove include an angle that is equal to or less than 160 degrees. Opposing grooves form an aperture. The apertures are adapted for receiving a rod if the locking means is released. Clamping jaws that are locked by the locking means clamp the rods received in said apertures.
