A sampling device for a sampling container. A pair of elongate flexible arms extend from a side wall away from a bottom end. The arms being oppositely located across a base chamber. A lower member has a flange and an aperture. A collar extends from the flange and is adapted to retain an end of a spring. An elongate cover has a first end and a second end. The first end being adapted in use to connect to a base and the second end being adapted in use to connect to an upper member. The upper and lower members are adapted to move along the axis by the positioning of a sampling container in the sampling chamber and the application of a force towards a base, permits a needle or blood bag tube located within a connector to discharge liquid into a sampling container.

Sampling device

A sampling device including a body () having a sampling chamber () adapted to receive a liquid () to be sampled. An inlet () on the body () allows liquid () to flow into the sampling chamber (). A sampling port () on the body is adapted to receive a sampling pot or sample receiving container () for collecting liquid () from the sampling chamber () wherein the sampling port includes a safety shield () slidaby mounted to the inside () of the sampling port, the safety shield slidable between a blocking position in which access to the sampling chamber is restricted and an accessible position in which access to the sampling chamber is allowed.

Liquid sampling device with passive safety

An apparatus and method that allow multiple samples of a liquid in a primary container (here called a 'pouch') to be taken with minimal danger of contaminating the liquid in the container during the sampling process are disclosed. In an embodiment, a closed sterile sight chamber is connected with the pouch in a sterile manner to allow fluid to flow into the chamber white at the same time allowing air within the chamber to be displaced through a bacterial fitter to atmosphere. The connection between the sight chamber and the pouch is then terminated (severed or closed), isolating the pouch from the sampling apparatus. Only then are samples of liquid withdrawn from the sight chamber, while allowing air to flow into the chamber through the bacterial filter.
