A method for renovation of a consumed anode in a metal-air cell without dismantling the cell according to embodiments of the present invention comprising circulating electrolyte through the cell to evacuate used slurry from the cell, circulating electrolyte with fresh slurry into the cell and allowing sedimentation of the fresh slurry inside the cell to form an anode and compacting the slurry to reduce the gaps between its particles. An optical fluid tester device for testing a fluid sample in an ampoule includes an ampoule cradle, a radiation source, a radiation detector and an analyzer. The ampoule cradle supports the ampoule. The ampoule with the fluid sample serves as a lens whose focal properties are dependent on the index of refraction of the fluid sample. The radiation source irradiates the ampoule. The radiation detector is located opposite the radiation source so that the ampoule, when supported by the ampoule cradle, lies between the radiation source and the radiation detector. The detector serves to detect the intensity of the incident radiation. A grid-based transmission system for determining relative positions of vehicles in a grid quadrangle of a reference grid, each vehicle having a transmitter and a receiver, comprising determining an absolute position of a vehicle. A reference grid is obtained. A reference point for the reference grid is assigned; and a relative position of the vehicle relative to the reference point is generated. The reference grid is a stored and previously generated reference grid, or is generated based on the absolute position and a transmission range of a transmitter. The vehicle sends a position message containing the relative position; the transmission range; an identity of the vehicle; an identity for all other vehicles that have previously sent a position message received by the vehicle; and the relative position of the all other vehicles.
