A knee airbag apparatus includes an airbag that is configured to be accommodated in a holder arranged in an instrument panel of a vehicle. The airbag includes an upper inflation portion and a lower inflation portion. The upper inflation portion is configured to be deployed and inflated from the holder along a rear surface of the instrument panel in a rear upward direction to protect a knee of a lea of the occupant. The lower inflation portion is configured to be deployed and inflated from the holder in a downward direction or a diagonally rear downward direction such that a lower end of the lower inflation portion reaches a position where the lower end contacts an instep of a foot of the leg of the occupant or a position lower than the instep to protect the foot of the occupant.

Knee protection airbag apparatus

An airbag apparatus includes an inflator, which generates inflation gas, and an airbag, which is supplied with the inflation gas from the inflator. The airbag is arranged in the seat back of a front seat. The airbag includes a lower inflation portion and an upper inflation portion. The lower inflation portion is inflated by the inflation gas only inside the lower part of the seat back. The upper inflation portion is arranged inside the seat back and above the lower inflation portion. The upper inflation portion is inflated above the lower inflation portion by the inflation gas, breaks the covering, which constitutes the outer shell of the seat back, and is inflated outside the seat back through the broken part of the covering.

Airbag apparatus

An airbag apparatus includes an airbag and an inflator. The airbag is configured to be deployed and inflated by the inflation gas at a position forward of a vehicle seat. The airbag includes a main bag member, an auxiliary bag member, and a tether. The main bag member is configured to be attached to a base member located at a position forward of the vehicle seat in the vehicle. The inflation gas is supplied from the inflator to the main bag member. The auxiliary bag member has a smaller volume than the main bag member and projects rearward from the main bag member. The tether extends across a boundary portion between the main bag member and the auxiliary bag member. A communicating portion, which allows communication between the main bag member and the auxiliary bag member, is provided around the tether in the boundary portion.

An airbag apparatus includes an inflator and an airbag. The air bag is accommodated in a housing located in front of a seat arranged in a passenger compartment of a vehicle and configured to be deployed and inflated from the housing toward the seat by an inflating gas supplied from the inflator. The airbag includes at least three regular inflation portions arranged next to one another from the housing toward the seat, an upper connecting inflation portion that connects upper ends of adjacent ones of the regular inflation portions to each other, and a lower connecting inflation portion that connects lower ends of adjacent ones of the regular inflation portions to each other. The upper connecting inflation portion and the lower connecting inflation portion are alternately arranged from the housing toward the seat.

A center airbag device is arranged in an instrument panel of a vehicle and located in a middle portion of the instrument panel with respect to a lateral direction of the vehicle. The center airbag device includes an airbag deployed and inflated when supplied with gas. The airbag includes a basal portion located on an upper surface of the instrument panel when the airbag is deployed and inflated, a protection portion located rearward from the basal portion and extended downward when the airbag is deployed and inflated, and an auxiliary portion located between the basal portion and the protection portion. The auxiliary portion allows the protection portion to be bent relative to the basal portion when the airbag is deployed and inflated.
