An apparatus is provided for constructing a segmented annular permanent magnet from a predetermined number of previously magnetized segments of predetermined shape and size comprising a rotateable carrousel, at least two of a plurality of removable ferromagnetic segments, an introducing means and a removing means.

Apparatus for construction of annular segmented permanent magnet

A cooling system for telecommunication equipment including a heat exchanger having outwardly protruding, parallel fins to dissipate heat. Each pair of fins forming an elongated channel. The system includes an ejector positioned within each channel to direct pressurized air through the channels while dragging ambient air through the channels along with the pressurized air. The pressurized and ambient air passing through the channels increases the ability of the fins to dissipate heat. Since the source of pressurized air can be remote from the telecommunications equipment in a protected and easily accessed location, the ejectors provide a rugged cooling mechanism adjacent the heat exchanger with no moving parts.

Forced convection cooling system for electronic equipment

A transportable magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, said apparatus comprising a transportable platform, provided with a casing made of ferromagnetic metal, and a magnetic resonance imaging system mounted onto said transportable platform, said magnetic resonance imaging system comprising a front end and a back end, the front end comprising a magnetic structure for the provision of a magnetic field, at least two gradient coils, RF transmit coil, and RF receive coil, and the back end comprising a host computer as a central processing unit, at least two gradient amplifiers, RF amplifier, MRI spectrometer, MRI controller and display unit, wherein said apparatus is provided with a positioning assembly for moving and positioning said magnetic structure between a first position and a second position, said first position being such that a patient's body part is positioned between said magnetic field, and said second position being such that said pair of magnets is positioned inside said casing, when not in use, in order to suppress the magnetic flux of said pair of magnets outside said casing.

Transportable intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging apparatus

Electro-optical display apparatus includes a plurality of modular units each having a projector for receiving electrical signals, converting them to optical images, and projecting the optical images via an optical projection system onto a screen. The modular units are arranged in a side-by-side array such as to produce a combined display on the screen. A calibration system detects distortions in the combined display caused by the projection system of each modular unit and modifies the electrical signals applied to the projector of each modular unit to correct the combined display with respect to the detected distortions.

Electro-optical display apparatus

Laser scanning apparatus includes a machine frame, a first supporting member for supporting a working medium, and a second supporting member for supporting at least the delivery end of a laser beam delivery system. One of the supporting members, preferably the latter one, is a movable carriage mounted in cantilever fashion from one side of the machine frame for effecting relative movement between the working medium and the laser beam delivery system to cause the laser beam to scan the working medium.

Color separation scanner

A multi-planar scanning endocavital probe for ultrasonic imaging systems including an ultrasonic transducer coupled by a linkage to a selectively rotated motor shaft extending from the face of a motor. The linkage causes the transducer to scan a planar sector wherein the planar sector has a fixed relationship to the motor face. The motor face is moved to change the plane scanned by the transducer.

Multi-planar scanning mechanism

A diaphragm pump is described comprising a reciprocated diaphragm for expanding and contracting a chamber communicating with a passageway connecting the housing inlet and outlet for pumping a fluid therethrough, and a pair of check valves in the passageway permitting the fluid to flow only from the inlet to the outlet. The check valves are disposed along laterally-spaced parallel axes and provide a forward fluid flow through both valves in the same direction along the laterally-spaced parallel axes, the outlet of one check valve communicating with the inlet of the other via a folded section of the passageway having two 180.degree. bends. Such an arrangement enables the diaphragm pump to be constructed in compact and/or miniaturized form. According to another described feature, the diaphragm pump is constructed in combination with the peristaltic pump having an inlet for a liquid to be pumped, and an outlet connected to the inlet of the diaphragm pump. Both pumps are driven by a common drive shaft.

Diaphragm pump

A membrane separation cell is described comprising a stack of supporting members each supporting a membrane on each of its opposite faces and defining a permeate compartment therewith, and separating members interposed between the membranes of adjacent supporting members and defining feed solution compartments therewith. The separating members are plates formed with passageways connecting the feed solution compartments in series through the stack such that the feed solution flows through each feed solution compartment in an inward direction across one face of the separator plate and in an outward direction across its opposite face. The membrane supporting members are plates each formed with an outer rim having passageways for conducting the permeate from the permeate compartment in parallel out of the stack.
