A storage system and method for improving utilization of a communication channel between a host and the storage system are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that is performed in a storage system in communication with a host via a communication channel. The method comprises determining utilization of the communication channel; and selecting a command for execution from a queue based at least in part on the determined utilization of the communication channel. The command can be selected also based on at least one other factor and based on a weighted priority-based function. Other embodiments are provided.

A storage system and method for improving utilization of a communication channel between a host and the storage system are provided. In one embodiment, a host sends a request for workload pattern information to the data storage device, and the data storage device provides the requested workload pattern information to the host. Based on that workload pattern information, the host queues commands to be sent to the data storage device to improve utilization of the communication channel between the host and the data storage device. Data storage device and method for enabling higher lane utilization in run time via device hints on workload patterns

Aspects of a storage device including a cache having a logical-to-physical (L2P) mapping table, a scratchpad buffer, and a controller are provided to optimize cache storage of L2P mapping information. A controller receives a random pattern of logical addresses and identifies each logical address within one of multiple probability distributions. Based on a frequency of occurrence of each logical address, the controller stores a control page including the logical address within either a partition of the L2P mapping table which is associated with the corresponding probability distribution, or in the scratchpad buffer. The frequency of occurrence of each logical address is determined based on whether the logical address is within one or more standard deviations from a mean of each probability distribution. As a result, frequently occurring control pages are stored in cache, while infrequently occurring control pages are stored in the scratchpad buffer.

A method and a system are provided for customer churn prediction. The method includes creating a graph comprising a plurality of nodes and a plurality of edges. At least one edge of the plurality of edges in the graph connects more than two nodes of the plurality of nodes. Each of the plurality of nodes represents a customer. Thereafter, a similarity matrix representative of a similarity between each of a plurality of customers is determined based on the graph. Further, the similarity matrix is decomposed into a first matrix and a second matrix. A third matrix is determined based on the first matrix, the second matrix, and a scaling parameter. The third matrix is utilized to identify a set of potential churn customers from the plurality of customers. Thereafter, the set of potential churn customers is presented on a user-computing device.

Systems and methods are disclosed for executing access commands for a data storage device. A data storage device receives first data to be written to a plurality of dies/non-volatile memory arrays. The data storage device transfers a first metapage of the first data to the plurality of dies/non-volatile memory arrays. The data is related to multiple predefined parameters including a location, date, time, and a classifier representing a status or an impact intensity for the event. The method also includes creating a hierarchical data structure configured to spatially index the data based on the selected event type. Systems and methods for context-aware and personalized access to visualizations of road events

Embodiments of a method are disclosed for computing trust index among multiple entities associated with a resource marketplace. The method includes receiving multiple inputs including interaction attributes, attribute importance factors, references to databases, and multiple entities associated with the resource marketplace. The method also includes creating a weighted-interaction graph based on the received inputs. The weighted-interaction graph includes multiple vertices representing the entities. The method further includes performing a topology-specific analysis of the weighted-interaction graph. The method furthermore includes computing Euclidean distances for each pair of vertices in the weighted-interaction graph based on the performed analysis. The method also includes determining a trust index for a first entity in the received multiple entities based on the computed Euclidean distances. The trust index includes ranking of at least one of the multiple entities with respect to the first entity. The ranking is inversely proportional to the computed Euclidean distances.

The disclosed embodiments illustrate methods and systems for processing crowd-sensed data. The method includes receiving the crowd-sensed data from a mobile device associated with a user. The crowd-sensed data corresponds to metadata of an event pertaining to an aberration in at least one of a public service, a public infrastructure, a private service, or a private infrastructure. Thereafter, the event may be prioritized based at least on a type of the event, a measure of impact of the event, or a measure of urgency to resolve the event. Presented is a method of automatically performing an action, based on graphical input. The method comprises: receiving, for a user, an input image; comparing the input image with the contents of a user-customized database comprising a plurality of records, each record representing a predefined class of image, wherein the user has previously associated records in the database with respective specified actions; attempting to recognize the image, based on the similarity of the input image to one of the predefined classes of image represented in the user-customized database; and if the image is recognized, performing the action previously associated by the user with the class. Also presented is apparatus for recognizing an image and a method of constructing a user-customized database.
