Further, the method includes providing, by the gNodeB, MBS to the UE during the MBS session. Further, the method includes detecting, by the gNodeB, that the at least one MBS is going to get suspended or deactivated. Further, the method includes sending, by the gNodeB, an indication to the UE indicating the at least one MBS going to get suspended or deactivated prior to suspension or deactivation of the at least one MBS at the UE.

Method and system for MBS switching and continuity in 5G wireless network

The present subject matter describes performing radio resource management (RRM) measurements by a WTRU in a 3GPP networks. The method comprise defining at-least one of: a) a channel condition threshold, b) a WTRU mobility threshold, and c) a measurement-reliability threshold. A first sub-set of reference-signal samples are measured out of a set of reference-signal samples based on sensing at least one of current channel conditions and mobility-conditions. A reliability-parameter associated with the first sub-set of measured samples is checked. Methods and systems for handling power saving signals to improve power saving performance of UE. A method disclosed herein includes enabling, a User Equipment (UE), to monitor a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) for downlink control information based on a reception of power saving signals from a Base Station with respect to a discontinuous-reception (DRX) cycle. The power saving signals include a Wake Up Signal (WUS), Go To Sleep (GTS) signal and PDCCH adaptation signal. The method further includes enabling the UE to monitor the PDCCH, if the WUS indicates presence of the PDCCH and enables the UE to skip the monitoring of the PDCCH during an On-duration of the DRX cycle, if the WUS indicates absence of the PDCCH. The method further includes enabling the UE to skip the monitoring of the PDCCH in an active time of the DRX cycle, on receiving the GTS signal.

Methods and systems for handling power saving signals to improve power saving performance of UE

The present subject matter refers targeting paging reduction to improve upon power consumption performance for the user equipment in wireless networks. The methods and systems are disclosed where indication signal is applied for idle/inactive mode UEs. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, an indication signal is introduced for idle/inactive mode UEs for paging reception. In another embodiment, the group of UEs may be divided into plurality of paging sub-groups of UEs having common paging occasion and each paging sub-group be assigned a paging sub-group ID. This paging sub-group ID may be incorporated in the indicating signal to reduce paging reception. The indicating signal may indicate presence or absence of paging DCI for a UE/or a paging sub-group identity of UE/UEs.

Methods and systems for power saving and paging reduction in a wireless communication network

The present disclosure describes methods of operating user equipment in 5G NR communications system. In accordance with some of the embodiments, the method comprises detecting a condition related to the user equipment (UE) while in one of a radio frequency (RF) inactive state and a cell handover, the condition indicating one of (a) the UE is not in reception of signaling information from a serving base station during the RF inactive state and (b) the UE is out of synchronization with the serving base station; determining an event related to one of transmission of data by the UE, reception of data by the UE, and radio resource management (RRM) measurement by the UE in conjunction with the detected condition; and applying one or more of (a) a blind downlink control information (DCI) decoding, (b) a static DCI configuration and (c) a dynamic DCI configuration based on the determination to enable the UE to at least one of (a) receive the signaling information, (b) receive the data, and (c) perform radio resource management (RRM) measurement.

A method for provisioning radio resources for Idle or Inactive mode user equipment in wireless network includes configuring by a network node for Idle or Inactive mode of a UE, a plurality of reference signals comprising of reuse of at least one of Connected mode reference signal including at least one of Non-Zero Power Channel State Indicator Reference Signal (NZP-CSI-RS) resource, Tracking Reference Signal (TRS) resource, Phase Tracking Reference Signal (PTRS) resource. Method and system for provisioning radio resources for idle or inactive mode user equipment in wireless network

A lossless Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure is described for a wireless communication network. The method includes determining whether size of an uplink (UL) grant is less than size of a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer protocol data unit (PDU) of a Msg3. In response to determining that the size of the UL grant is less than the size of the MAC PDU of the Msg3 performing one of: rebuilding the MAC PDU of the Msg3 using one or more MAC Sub PDUs (SDUs) based on the UL grant and transmits a rebuilt MAC PDU of the Msg3; initiating new RACH procedure; and updating one or more MAC CE in the Msg3. In response to determining that the size of the UL grant is not less than the size of the MAC PDU of the Msg3, updating the one or more MAC CE in the MAC PDU of the Msg3 based on values of the UL grant and transmits the updated MAC PDU of the Msg3.

Method and UE for providing lossless RACH procedure in wireless communication network

The present disclosure relates to a method and system, for performing an initial network access procedure by a user equipment (UE) to access a network in a coverage area. The method includes performing, by the UE, initialization procedure of the UE. Synchronization, is performed by the UE with one or more base stations to prepare a fast network access index (FNAI) list. An initial network access message (INAM) is multicasted to at least one base station based on an INAM multicast list prepared in response to the FNAI list. At least one initial network access response (INAR) is received from the at least one base station in response to the INAM, each INAR comprising a current load information of a base station. The INAR is processed to determine at least one suitable base station. Synchronization with the suitable base station is performed to access the network in the coverage area.

In an embodiment, the method includes detecting a User Equipment (UE) handover trigger based on an aggregate throughput for each Data Radio Bearers (DRBs) in each CoMP link between the UE and each Neighboring Base Stations (NBS) in a set of NBSs, the UE being in communication with a Serving Base Station (SBS) and each NBS in the set of NBSs through a set of active CoMP links; ranking each NBS based on handover potential of each NBS in the set of NBSs; and selecting a target NBS from the set of NBSs for UE handover based on the ranking and UE support capability information associated with each NBS, wherein a subset of the set of active CoMP links is migrated to the target NBS during the UE handover.

Systems and methods for allocating a physical cell identifier (PCI) to a cell are described. In one implementation, the method comprises identifying allocated physical cell identifiers based on PCI data and generating a near PCI list and a far PCI list based on the allocated PCIs and a RSRP threshold value. Further, the method comprises determining cell group IDs and a cell IDs from the near PCI list and the far PCI list. Further, the method comprises assigning the cell group IDs to a first bin and the cell IDs to a second bin. Further, the method comprises prioritizing the cell group IDs in the first bin based on effective distance and the cell IDs in the second bin based on an effective RSRP value. Further, the method comprises allocating the PCI, to the cell, determined based on the prioritized cell group IDs and the cell IDs.
